I personally Find the games are crap incarnate, and I havent seen the first movie in hte series (I hear its pretty bad).

But have you seen the trailer for Resident Evi: Apocalypse?

My gosh, this unbrella corperation stuff sure makes me think of blue sun (and I know its just going to turn the world into zombies...) but if this movie gets pulled off right it could be great, then again it could just be the kind of "gerrrr, arrrgg!!!!" Zombie movie that plagues theateres as of late, but Im still holding out hope....

If people only beleive wahts in a movie, their damn well sure beleiving Serenity.

The first one was a decent action movie. Its main problem was that the music was too loud.

Never played the games, but I know a lot of people swear by them.

The buzz regarding RE2 seems to be on the negative side, but I'm reserving judgement. It seems to be a direct sequel; many of the scenes in the RE2 trailer were pulled directly out of RE1.

I've played the games not that I'm big on video games because I'm not but my brother loves them, actually Resident Evil.has one of the best storylines I've ever scene and the 1rst movie could have been great...I really thought that it would suck as a movie but it wasn't bad..not great but not bad either..I'll see RE2

a great zombie movie if you like that sort of thing is 28 days..

Until I played Silent Hill game, Resident Evil 2 was my favourite ever survival horror game. The plotlines, the music, the atmosphere truly amazing.

Sadly the first film was a huge anti climax but I have high hopes for the second one.

^I wonder.....can a film be called an anticlimax if the last scene is the best one?

Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson who also brought us such anti-climatic movies as Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon, Soldier and the recent Alien versus Predator.

The second Resident Evil is written by him, but not directed. I may see it to discover if it is his writing or directing that kills these movies.

the Resident Evil games (at least the first 3) are the best horror games I have ever played....especially Nemesis, that one had me jumping out of my chair.

Though the first Silent Hill (haven't played the last 2) was right on the money as far as scariness goes...

The first RE movie I thought was pretty good (and yes, umbrella DOES seem alot like blue sun), and I look forward to seeing the second movie when it comes out.

"Your mouth is talking. Might wanna see to that"

QUICKSAND

Paul W.S. Anderson was all set to direct his own script for "RE2," but quit as director when the chance to make "AvP" came up. So he got some Cinematographer to direct "RE2" instead, which never turns out well. Well, it sometimes turns out well. For every "Men in Black," there are fifty "Mortal Kombat: Annhiliation" 's.

Here's the thing about "Resident Evil" ... it didn't suck. I had never played the games, and maybe the soundtrack WAS turned up to eleven, but that was new for a horror movie, so I was all for it. Less crappy instrumental score, more Slipknot. Can't blame them for trying.

Horror movies, to me, are made for one forum: A crowded movie theater, 500 screaming fans yelling and throwing things. They do not work anyplace else. If you see "RE" today, or "Freddy vs. Jason," or whatever... in the comfort of your living room, with the lights off, with you and a friend and a bowl of popcorn... these movies SUCK. All of them.

But.... watch a horror movie with 500 screaming teenagers, throwing popcorn and yelling, "Don't go in there, girl!!" .... that, my fellow browncoats, is gorram ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!
