Well, over the long holiday weekend I found myself looking for something good to watch and decided to take a chance on Orphan Black (By the way, if
someone already posted something about this let me know).

I heard that it was good and that the lead actress, Tatiana Maslany is a
revelation in this series. The answer to both of the above is Yes & Yes!
I started out to watch the first half hour and if it didn't capture my
imagination right off, I would abandon and look for something else.

I watched the first four episodes back to back. I was hooked, but good!
It reminded me of how well written Fringe is and equally good with the
actors and characters. It is unlike anything I've seen on TV, but still
familiar with familiar sci-fi rules. Maslany is a gem of an actress and
the cast are all very capable. She plays a woman who has 9 clones but you don't know which is the original woman. Very interesting. What I like most is it's unpredictability. It keeps you guessing and never ever leads you by the hand to spoon-feed you the plot. You have to guess right along with the main character what's going to happen next. I love a good murder mystery
where you have to figure out, along with the detective who done it as the show moves along.

Right now I'm on Season 2 and it just keeps getting better with each
episode. And it's funny too. If you guys get a chance get your hands on
this solid series.

Hear! Hear!

I've seen it all, and anxiously await Season 5, which unfortunately will be its last. Then again, they've had to retool the premise a couple of times already, and I'd rather they fashion an acceptable conclusion rather than keep going longer than necessary.

On my website - templetongate.net - I have reviewed some TV and movies, although I concentrate more on books. I have intended to review Orphan Black before now, not sure why I haven't. Hopefully I can get around to that before the next season starts.

I started a thread back during Season 1: http://fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=54682

You even replied to it, over three years ago, so it did take you a while to get around to it. Not sure why the thread died shortly into Season 2, but I'm also not sure why I still haven't written a review for it.

I can't explain it either EC. Sometimes I let myself get distracted, but I'm glad I started watching. I've watched Fringe so many times (usually Season 1-4, 5 I found a bit disappointing). But I love the characters, dialogue and screenplay of Fringe so much; a lot like Breaking Bad. Some episodes were kind of throwaways, but the majority were rock solid and so enjoyable that I
couldn't help but re-watch whenever I found myself missing them.

OB is in that same vein. I'm thrilled by the plot development, characters, dialogue and screenplay. Damn good show.

So, the last season has started. Two episodes in, and I have already noticed a couple of things.

One – Kira is getting a bit chunky. I know she's a kid, but my God, lay off the cheetos, babe.

Two – Felix is back to just being scenery. For a while there, he'd taken a prominent role in the series, but it looks like they are focusing in on clone club. I am just glad that he has not been killed off - yet.

Three - I really was not impressed with the way they killed one of the characters. What a complete waste.

Select to view spoiler:

M.K. died needlessly. The rabbit mask wearing secret cyber sister was sick, much like Cosima, but was ' tired of running ', as Ferdinand was closing in on Sarah and Kira. M.K. pretended to be Sarah, while the real Sarah and Kira escaped. Only THAT plan went out the window when Kira, suddenly grew tired of living life on the run, and wanting a "normal" life, defies Sarah and chooses NOT to run anymore. Gee, thanks kid. M.K. might have been able to be saved, but instead gave her life trying to protect your ungrateful chubby cheeks. Hope you never find out the manner in which she died... yeah, you probably don't need to know that.

Finally, I am really missing After the Black , with Morgan Hoffman. I guess the series ratings did not warrant a final season ? Pity

Orphan Black series finale'.

I thought it a fitting farewell. Yes, it could have gone far darker, and I'm sure that was discussed, but I'm pleased with the final show. Still plenty of heartbreak, to be sure, but I think it's about the best they could have done and still held true to their format.

( Krystal was notably absent towards the end, and I'm not sure why.

Also, I wasn't crazy with how Castor was...well, no spoilers. Can't please everyone, I guess. )

Tatiana Maslany came out of no where and totally owned that show. So talented !

Potential for a sequel ??? We'll just have to wait and see.
