There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Has anyone else checked out this show? I believe it is the first that BBC-A has commissioned themselves rather than importing from the UK.

The first episode was a bit dodgy, but it did have to set up a fantastic premise. The best thing about it is the acting of Tatiana Maslany, who is Canadian, but she plays multiple versions of a clone with quite a bit of difference in accent and mannerisms between them. I don't know if the Emmys will recognize a Canadian produced show made for BBC-A, but they should since she deserves the recognition.

So far, in just five episodes she has played these characters, in order of screen appearance:

Sarah Manning - streetwise hustler
Beth Childs - police detective
Sarah pretending to be Beth
Katja Obinger - German
Alison Hendrix - uptight, conservative soccer mom
Cosima - genius student of evolutionary biology
Sarah pretending to be Katja
Helena - near-insane killer
Alison pretending to be Sarah
Helena pretending to be Sarah who is pretending to be Beth

It's on Saturday nights following Doctor Who.

I'm following along, or trying to. I dig Tatiana a bit. She has sort of a Summer Glau quality about her, though I don't think she can do accents as well. ( Or can she ? Summer did the bit of Cockney from the Train Job, and some Russian as the dancer in the episode of Angel ) Those w/ a better ear for such things can be the judge.

And much like Summer, Tatiana did a fully nude scene, early on in the series.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Based on your recommendation Easy, I'll give it two or three eps

It's available on Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video (free with Amazon Prime), and can also be found via http://www.tv-links.eu

I was thinking the SAME EXACT thing.

Oh man... more 'River' comparisons, as Sarah has flashbacks from some sort of clinical experiment done to her. Really liked how things are FINALLY starting to connect here.

Thanks EC,

Gonna give it a look based on your recommendation. I've heard good things about this show, but most especially about Tatiana Maslany.

Here's a great interview with Tatiana on what it took to create such diverse characters and how they filmed her, in triplicate at times:

It was just a ten episode first season, with the finale last night. There were at least four times I was surprised by events in this episode, and it is going to be a very long wait for Season Two. I won't spoil anything, but there is at least one of those characters Tatiana won't have to worry about portraying anymore, but another one was added.

The relatively unknown Tatiana Maslany won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama series last night. Other nominees were Clare Danes (Homeland), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), Juliana Margulies (The Good Wife), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men), and Keri Russell (The Americans).

Also, Orphan Black Season One will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 16.

2nd seasons are sooo precarious. Or can be. The premise is set, and clearly there are great characters ( aside from the Clones )

Did anyone catch the Clonechat special, w/ Will Wheaton ? I thought he did a great job, and have really liked seeing him more. I've not seen but a few minutes of the special, a couple of times, but want to sit down and catch the full hour.

Ep 1 was darn good. Picked up right where they left off.

Not sure about Alison though. Will here secret come back to bite her later on?

About an hour ago I finished watching a show called The Listener. Pretty good, and this was apparently the Pilot Episode, from 2009.

Looks like Tatiana appears in one episode of the 1st season.
Several hotties appear in the show, including Jewel Staite in 2013.

Due Southers Gordon Pinset and Daniel Kash will also appear.
