CHRISISALL

He's likin' Picard in a big way, and wants to be Hugh (the Borg) for Halloween!

Opinions here: what season of TNG should he ask for for Christmas?

I see it a' coming!!!

Tough question. Probably season 3, or 6. Those best define the series in my opinion. Both are really strong. But then again season 5 does have "Inner Light" so there is that.

Season 3 I say.

Get him some of the novels. It's important to raise readers (trust me, he'll thank you for it), and prose-Trek is better than TV-Trek anyway (no budget/cast/time/censorship limitations).

Nearly finished watching the series straight through with my wife and let me be the first to say, DEAR GOD NOT SEASON 7! What drivel...

I'd go with season 3. Two words: "Yesterday's Enterprise"

Also, as a young man with a full head of hair, should I be worried how attracted my wife is to Picard? I didn't mind her digging on Chakotay but Jean'Luc? That seem right to you?

Yeah, I was leaning toward suggesting season 3 to him...

I've heard the Titan books are good but can in no way vouch for that. Next Star Trek book I plan on reading is The Return. SHAT-TASTIC!

STORYMARK

Yeah, season 3 sounds like a good starting point. Or, you could go with the themed boxed sets. If he's liking Picard, the Picard collection (which has Best of Both Worlds, Tapestry, Inner Light, etc.) wouldn't be bad. Cheaper then a season set as well.

We have most of the themed sets- he's exhausted 'em.

I bought the themed sets as well. Cant' afford those big scary season sets. I really like them for the most part. I wish they'd come out with more. A Vulcan one would be nice, a Romulan one would be good, maybe even an AI set. They're the way to go in my opinion.
