Netflix has it; I just added it to my queue. However, the expected availability for disk one is "long wait."

Well, except Disc 1 won't load: It makes a grinding sound and starts spinning wildly and then ejects. All the other discs play, though.
I'll exchange it first thing tomorrow.

EDIT: Never mind! I tried it a third time and it loaded just fine! Wonder what the problem was the first two times?

As I added in my previous post, it's working fine now.
(And I hadn't had that problem with any other disc, anyway)

Boy, it's so wonderful watching it with headphones on!
I'm hearing it in stereo for the first time ever!

EDIT: And I'm noticing all kinds of cool new details.
For instance: When Gorrester's corpse is sliding up the ramp into the Body Bank, he's still got a cigarette in his hand!

Yeah, it's like another dimension to the series we never had back in the day.

Many series don't hold up well over time, but I think this one actually got BETTER!

Oh, and I love how the rep from ZikZak in the "Rakers" episode is named Ped Xing!

Kinda disappointed that Matt Frewer didn't participate on the Bonus Features, and that there's no commentaries on the episodes.
But the Closed Captioning is fun to watch when Max is talking!

Some great aerial action in the "War" episode!
Love that Network 23 chopper!

Of course, I've always loved this, one of the first shots from the "Blipverts" episode, the best!

I haven't gotten to "War" yet- I'm takin' it nice & slow, like I did with Brisco. Gotta savour.

A little less... spreading it in between CHUCK season 3, Lois & Clark season 2, & Young Indy volume 3.

We watch so much less once school starts.

Make sure you watch all the stuff on Disc 5!
Not only is the story of how the show came into being amazing, but the round-table discussion with Amanda Pays, Jeffrey Tambor, Chris Young and Concetta Tomei ("Blank Dominique" (and no relation to Marisa)) couldn't have had a more perfect moderator than Javier Grillo-Marxuach, creator of The Middleman!

And once again, I'm smackin' myself for forgetting all about Blank Reg when I met W. Morgan Sheppard in the Ralphs parking lot a couple years ago!
When I recognized him, I told him I knew him from Babylon 5 & seaQuest, and we also talked about Mark's work on Firefly & Soldier of Fortune, Inc..
When I got home, I shouted "BLANK REG!! How could I forget Blank Reg?!"

Well, it's interesting to see where the two versions matched perfectly in the first half and then diverged wildly in the second half.

Hey Chris, I just got an alert form Warner Archives- The Power (1968, George Hamilton, Suzanne Pleshette, Produced by George Pal) is available!!! I would have killed for this movie a couple years ago, but $19.95 + shipping NOW? Sadly, I'm gonna pass. The story is excellent, but the FX are so dated now as to be laffable. It's a $10 flick at best at this point. Too bad. I loved it at my Son's age.

I bought Planet Earth from Warner Archive a while ago, $25 is a lot for a DVD with NO extras IMO, but I'm a big Roddenberry fan, so I coughed up the dough.
No regrets, but I'll be damned if I spit out that kinda cash for ALL the overpriced titles they have that I'd like to have...Man From Atlantis, City Beneath The Sea, Genesis II, etc. It's another form of extortion.
The Power is a great film, but for ME (I've seen it a million times on ABC's 4:30 movie in NY during the 70's) it's just not worth the $$$.

I saw this Live a couple of times during the 90's , and I thought it had a very Max flavor to it :

The movie that the song was made for had a surrealistic flavor as well...Interesting sci-fi flick worth a watch.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Sorry to interrupt the love fest here, but I've been disappointed in what I've seen so far. I know I said I'd buy at least two copies of Max Headroom back at the beginning of this thread. Not only have I not done so, I now am glad I rented it from Netflix instead. A great concept to be sure, but such poor execution. And I'm not just talking about the apparent low budget (although it might not have been, it looks it), but the acting and writing is extremely sub-par.

I got disc one several weeks ago, and had intended to zip through it quickly, but it actually took me nearly a week to get around to all four episodes, and the same for disc two. I just got disc three today, but it may sit on the shelf for a while before I get around to it. Too many other things I've been meaning to watch.

The only reason I'll watch it all is just to say that I have, so I can be confident in my overall opinion. I thought I had seen most of the series in its original broadcasts, but maybe not since I don't have memories of most of what I've seen the past few weeks.

It's a cool show in my opinion, very cyber-video & goofy to boot.
I can totally understand how you or others might say it's trash though, you have to love the concept and Max himself.
It's seriously unlike any other series I've ever seen, some might say not in a good way.
And it does meander from one thing to the next...

I didn't say it was trash, and I'll give you that it was innovative and took a lot of risks for its time. It just was not well produced in my opinion.

I personally feel that adds to the fascination. It was like, the first reality show (about a fictitious future).
