RIPWASH

One of THE funniest and freshest sit-coms to come along in quite a while. I find myself laughing out loud (and long)on several occasions in each episode. I hope it gets renewed if it hasn't been already.

I enthusiastically concur.

I fear that if 2 or more Browncoat-types like it, it's just gotta be cancellation bait. But I have been pleasantly surprised before (though not nearly often enough), so maybe they'll let the funny continue.

The guy that plays Ted, Jay Harrington, appeared in an ep of Burn Notice, 3rd season (I'm almost positive) - the one where Michael & Co. help rescue the kidnapped...kid. (I suppose it's possible that Michael's done that more than once, but I'm new to BN and the first 2 seasons remain a delightful mystery awaiting my exploration. Or something like that...

And I would be remiss (and out of character) if I did not comment on Portia de Rossi (Veronica) and Andrea Anders (Linda)...and that comment would be...they are both hot. And they're hot in different ways. It's like a mini-smorgasbord hotness.

I may not agree with all your politics, Rip, but I can't fault your taste!

If anything, Washnwear, it's the remainder of the site that keeps me coming back. RWED is fun and informative at times, but it's reminders like this, that we all share common interests, that makes me smile.

Hmmph! - I know the day is still young, but it's starting to feel a little lonely here. Surely we can't be the only 2...?

LOL...

Give it time. We have built it so they will come.

I think the Veridian Dynamics commercials are a hoot. The one last night said something like, "We hate spending money, but we do it anyway because we LOVE nature!" I was already laying on the floor and this had me literally rolling around I was laughing so hard. Go figure.

I thought I could find a couple of those faux-mercials to post here, but none of the really funny ones are on-line anywhere that I can see.

I swear I had a Firefly/Andy Richter Controls the Universe/Better Off Ted(both sitcoms made by the same company) dream last night.

Things I remember are:
-The crew of Serenity wasn't 8 or 9, but 24(the regular characters from the shows plus extras).
-The galley was a bit bigger to make room for a big ass conference table.
And...
-It was too damn funny.

Or the weaponized pumpkins.
Or the dog that speaks Italian.(Oops, that one's from Andy Richter)
Or the living computer with an ulcer.

L-O-V-E Ted...and his scientists. The Veridian Dynamics commercials fooled my husband at first. Too funny.

And I believe it did get renewed but don't quote me on that.

Another Ted watcher here! Been following since the beginning, and while it CAN be slightly patchy from episode-to-episode, it's definitely worth watching every week! Glad to hear it (probably) got renewed!!

Managed to avoid the Burn Notice spoiler as well, I'm only up to Season 2! I assume there was a spoiler anyway, if not, all good!

Oh, man, this is my favorite sitcom of all time! I like it even better than Big Bang Theory!
Lem & Phil are the two greatest scientist characters I've ever seen.

And there's plenty of great clips on YouTube!

Here's the one they aired after the show got preempted for an Obama speech...

Hadn't seen that "President" one before. I laughed out loud a couple times!

At any rate, I was just reading how this show was renewed despite very low ratings. The ABC execs had enough faith that the show had great possibilities and could possibly grow by leaps and bounds.

Hmmmmm . . . . kinda makes you think that maybe Fox should take a few pointers from ABC, huh?

This is, more or less, what I was addressing in the "Shows cancelled by Fox" thread. ABC had faith in this show, so they aired it perhaps when no other network would. Low ratings be darned, they decided to renew it because of the show's potential. Now, this doesn't mean they'll renew it for a third season or even that they won't cancel it in the second season because of ratings, but at at least they're giving a show they believe in a decent chance to thrive. And I, for one, think the writing and the acting deserve that.

I certainly agree with your sentiment, and I'd like to believe that a network would make such a call based on purely "artistic" reasons. But - and perhaps I've simply spent too much time lurking in the RWED - I wonder if the renewal isn't rooted in more pragmatic soil. For example, while I don't know how much Portia, Jay, & Co. are getting paid, I suspect that otherwise the show is comparatively cheap to produce - seems like most of the action takes place at Veridian HQ, and they don't have to shoot many car chases and explosions. Could be that it's most cost-effective to let it ride another season - if it takes off, great; if not, oh well...

I'm trying to recall what it's up against in that timeslot, but I got nuthin'.

Of course none of that takes away from what we've been saying here: It's one funny freakin' show!

EDIT for bad sin tax...
