That's why I liked it.
My favourite ep was the last one where they got home.
OOOOPS! Sorry to spoil it for anyone!
Janeway was my girl. Like a female Kirk- "FIRE!"
She didn't overthink stuff like Picard.
I also like "Year Of Hell."

You know what really bothers me about Voyager (other than, in pure Star Trek fashion there is the quick science fix to a problem. In Voyager's case, whenever they were in trouble they would realign the deflector dish. Every Time), but what really bothers me is the fact that Ensign Kim never once was promoted. That man was one of their hardest workers, never a promotion. LT Paris got a commission, demoted, and promoted in the same amount of time. Why not Harry?

Whenever my car overheats, that simple technique work for it, as well.

They didi not use the dish everytime! did you evenb watch any au eps., or paied attention at all, not every situation was solved by the science department, half of the eps. it was the doc who saved the ship. And Harry was the "Eternal Ensign", and he got promoted in the books.

Favorite episode was "The Gift". Just to see Seven cut off from The Collective and having a breakdown from feeling human emotion for the first time in decades. And at the end of the ep when she says "Red. The child you spoke of. Her favorite color was red."

Enterprise was a much better show in my opinion.

Voyager had way, way too many lackluster episodes.

Yeah, for every really good ep, it had 3-4 very "meh" ones.

ENT. had better eps than VOYAGER, how the hell do you quantify that, it's not so. Don't get me wrong i liked ENT. but i like VOYAGER better, it was a better show.

RIPWASH

Voyager and DS9 were good shows, but I lost track of them and can't even remember why. My favorite character on Voyager had to be the Hologram Doctor. He was very funny. That show's answer to "Spock" and "Data".

I was a fan of pretty much every Trek show (grew up more on TNG than TOS, so I do have my preferences) except for "Enterprise," but don't think I'm in a minority there

For TNG, I really liked an episode where Picard was trapped on a planet with aliens that seemed to be speaking jibberish even with the Universal Translator. They eventually figured out a way to communicate and it turns out the aliens spoke in allegorical themes pertaining to their planet's history. So the Translator was working but the speech pattern made no sense at first. It was very good and kinda emotional at the end.

Alls I can say is that I liked Voyager better than DS9 or Enterprise- I can't objectively say it was "better."

I CAN, however, objectively state that Dark Angel was better than Voyager, DS9 & Enterprise.

How can you even compare them?
Blasphemy! Sacrilege!
Bring on the Spanish Inquisition with their fluffy cushions.

The three Trek shows had their good points (DS9 especially) but DA kicked the proverbial out of all the best episodes these three could muster (except maybe some second season ones from DA).

Back on topic and my fave Voyager character was easily the EMH. Robert Picardo played him brilliantly with just the right amount of sarcasm.
Best episode was probably Year Of Hell, although their were some others that I can't remember the title of.

First season, all but one ("Shorties In Love" #116) were better than anything from those three series (and most of TNG for that matter), about half for the second season, IMO (#'s 201-203, 207, 211-213, 219 & 221).

I've quoted that sketch on quite a few occasions on this forum and others. You are the first one to ever state that they got it.
So congrats to you.

Python is probably the only show I use more than Firefly. Although it's usually someone saying what they want or don't want to be and I'll reply that I always wanted to be a lumberjack, swinging from tree to tree.
This is generally followed by a confused look.

I'm off to feed my Norwegian Blue but first, something completely different.....

At the risk of interrupting the Monty Python parade...

VOY was my least favourite of what I call the 24th Century Treks - but I like it better than TOS (blasphemy I know) and ENT. I thought Enterprise was getting it together by the end, but it was too late. The first two seasons were unbelievably boring, IMHO. And too many humans.

As for favourite VOY character/arc, I would agree with Tom Paris - he was likeable and flawed in a way that humans in Trek rarely are. And it was a fulfilling arc to watch him go from scoundrel to happy husband (and father). I also liked that he and Torres had an ongoing relationship with all its ups and downs.

But DS9 still rules all the Treks (let the flame war begin! ).

So, has anybody been reading the Voyager Relaunch?

http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Homecoming_(novel)
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/The_Farther_Shore
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Wounds_(novel)
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Enemy_of_My_Enemy
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Before_Dishonor
(Not technically a Voyager book, but it's centred around 7/9 and Adm. Janeway.)
http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Full_Circle_(novel)

The first few books were rough (Golden had to retcon that out-of-character mess of a finale), but with the Spirit Walk duology, the storyline's been getting a second wind.

Then Full Circle came along and started up a completely new storyline --Voyager's "Season 9" looks like it's gonna be bigger than ever. Nothing will ever be the same again, and I can't wait for Unworthy to drop in October.

Thanks for those links - I have been reading those books, and was beginning to despair that there wouldn't be another.

However, I am [bold]not impressed[/bold] with Peter David for Before Dishonor.

DS9!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't be serious, the Dominion, who the hell would believe that garbage. I admit that DS9 is esential for any trek fan, but as far as being the best, hello one word. DELTA QUADRENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *WE ARE THE BORG, YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVNESS WILL BE ADDED TO OUR OWN, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!* OH YEAH? WELL SUCK ON SOME TERMINATOR.... AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!

I'm back, the BORG are dumb. I beat them with pink fluffy pillows, with all the trimings.

"Full Circle" was one of my favorite books in recent trek readings, i like the whole spliting Tom and B'Elanna part, for necessity of course, and having them on the path to reconciliation. But i hate killing Janeway off, but not as much as when in star wars books, they killed off Chewbacka, Anakin Solo, and Mara Jade Skywalker( Lukes wife).
