I adored this show back when I was 7, and my science fiction club has the DVDs in their lending library, so I decided to revisit...
http://www.ufoseries.com/

Man, what an amazing show this was!

Scenes that I found boring as a kid I now find gripping, thanks to writing and acting that is far better than it might've been on a strictly "kiddie show".

My jaw is on the floor with Derek Meddings' miniature work: So much "real world" detail!
And the set design is better than anything I've seen on television!
This had far better production values than Space: 1999, IMHO.

Some good discussion about it here...

Gawd, but I loved that show!

And had pretty much forgotten all about it, and never even imagined it would EVER be released on video or DVD. I thought I was about the only one on Earth who had ever watched it!

Gotta track down that DVD set one day.

Son of a...

I had no idea it was the same people who did Thunderbirds... I loved those as a kid, too. It doesn't hold up well to the test of time, though, from what I've seen.

The Andersons would follow "UFO" with "Space 1999". Their early work with puppets gave them the experience to produce the special effects used on both these shows.
