Just watched From Russia with Love.
I really enjoyed the villan(Robert Shaw).
Very well crafted Bond movie. Although Bond doesn't have too many action scenes throughout. 'Mostly he's just being a bad ass with good taste in Woman.

Here are my favorites...so far.

-The Spy Who Loved Me

-Moonraker(what can I say, Roger Moore rocks)

-From Russia with Love

I really hated Live, and let Die. My only disappointing Bond film so far.

What are your favorites?

Not a huge fan of Live And Let Die myself, although I do like the theme tune a lot.

Faves would be:
You Only Live Twice
Thunderball

Followed by in no order:
Goldeneye
OHMSS
Licence To Kill
Goldfinger
Dr. No
Casino Royale
Diamonds Are Forever

Worst movie is A View To A Kill.

Golden Eye
Diamonds are Forever
Casino Royale
The World is Not Enough
The Spy Who Loved Me ( just keeping the British end up...cracks me up)

Those are in no particular order

Great Bond film. I'm really looking forward to Quantum of Solace...or whatever it's called.

Everything with Connery. Also, "The Spy Who Loved Me" proabably the best of the bunch even if it does star inferior James Bond Moore. Stopped watching them during the Dalton era. Not so much because of the actor as I just got bored with the formula.

Not a big Bond fan, but given a rainy bank holiday -- I'd be in the mood for :

Thunderball (because of Domino)
Dr No (because of the location)
On her Majesties Secret Service (Best score!)
For Your Eyes Only (First Bond film I saw in the cinema, when I was a kid)
Living Daylights (I liked Dalton and the action in this one)
License to Kill (Great stunts!!!)
Tomorrow never dies (Well.... Michelle Yeoh)

I don't remember the one from Her Majesty's Secret Service. Now I'm going to have to try and watch it to see what you're refering to.

I always liked the one on the cable car in 'Moonraker' (yeah I know) plus the car roll from Man with the Golden Gun.

However the Hercules, jeep, raft thing from Living Daylights is probably my fav....

Aw man, Moonraker sucked. It belongs on MST3000.

Now For Your Eyes Only, which followed Moonraker, was pretty good for Moore, but the best Bond films, by and large, are the Connery films and of them Goldfinger, From Russia With Love and of course Thunderball are the most preeminent of all Bond. Nothing yet compares to them, although a few have gotten close.

LOL, I agree.
Objectively, I thought Goldeneye was easily up there with the Connery Bonds.
Subjectively, Tomorrow Never Dies has my favourite Bond girl of all time in Wai Lin (Though, Domino in Thunderball blows me the **** away ).

Don't be so hard on Moonraker. When it played in the theaters in 1979 it looked pretty awesome. This was 2 years before the actual first Space Shuttle flight in 1981. Although not my favorite Bond movie, it ranks high on my list mainly due to the special effects, sultry Lois Chiles, and the opening free-fall scene.

Yeah man, what the hell?

Roger Moore IS Bond!!! Where's the love? I aint feelin it. At least most of his Bond flicks had a really good fun factor. Of all other Bond movies a current quote from another popular movie:
"Why so serious?"

Best line of the movie....final scene....Bond is on top of Dr. Goodhead under the sheets inside the shuttle....M asks Q what's Bond doing? Q replies it appears he's attempting re-entry....pretty risque for 1979!

One of my favorites is DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. Even though DR. NO was the one that started it all, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is now rightfully considered one of the best, and GOLDFINGER perfected the formula, DIAMONDS is my favorite of the Connery Bonds, since it has my all time favorite stunt, where he shoots some grappling hooks onto the ledge of the hotel and then leaps off. Sounds incredibly simple, but it always takes my breath away. Plus it has the narrator from ROCKY HORROR as Blofeld, and two duo henchmen (Bambi and Thumper and Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd) that are iconic.

And I'm surprised that DIE ANOTHER DAY was the Bond film that made them consider doing a reboot. Especially since it came after THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, which is IMHO the WORST Bond film ever made. I heard even Pierce Brosnan couldn't understand the plot of the film. If they wanted to do the reboot after WORLD, I would have gotten it, but not after DIE ANOTHER DAY which was highly entertaining.

I will say I think best line delivery every should go to Connery in Never Say Never Again

Fatima Blush: You know that making love to Fatima was the greatest pleasure of your life.

James Bond: Well, to be perfectly honest, there was this girl in Philadelphia...

Well that's the thing it wasn't that risqué considering this was straight forward 'Carry On' material, and they had been doing that style of joke for years. By then Bond was just a big joke, and it sat curiously amougst some great stunts and outlandish ideas. Quite a confussing time for Bond films in my view, and as this was sort of my era when I discovered him, I never really got into the character.

Since Austin Powers, Bond was even harder to take seriously, and as such I wonder if the reasons why Casino Royale and indeed Daniel Craig are so different to previous Bonds, is to perhaps try and distance themselves from the parodies that Bond had fashioned.

To each their own though - I can fully see why people vary on their likes and dislikes of the Bond films, and hey if you enjoy them for what they are then so much the better. It obviously isn't meant to be taken seriously, and coming from a guy who thinks the greatest secret agent is actually Danger Mouse, then maybe I'm at risk of doing just that.

Roger Moore was a great Saint, but a doofy Bond IMO.

It obviously isn't meant to be taken seriously,

Which is why flicks like From Russia With Love & Casino Royale get too close to being real- Bond is an adult comic book, to try to make a 'serious' Bond movie defeats the purpose.
But then, too silly is a problem too; I like a laugh here & there, but I don't want my intelligence insulted.

I'm willing to buy a car with a cloaking device and gene therapy more than Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist and an incredibly uneven tone and pace.

I just thought Goldfinger was so evil. One of the more ruthless foes that Bond had to take on. Gadgets aside, Goldfinger was a killer and a cruel killer. He would use his bare hands if he had to and enjoy it.
