I know who the last cylon is. I won't spoil it. I heard it from the actor on a video. Also the Orion system was in the background during the cylon trap. They are getting closer. I really don't like these humans so lets all turn out the lights when they jump into our solar system.

quick edit- Dreary yep kinda like Das Boot in Space.

In a few more words: "Dreary but well-written." But that applies to the whole series.

Anticlimatic seems a wee bit premature 4 episodes into a 20 episode season.

dreary - that 'one word' gets my vote as well. It's turned very soap-opera and angst-y and I really don't care much for ANY of the characters anymore. Although like several others have mentioned; we still watch it - if not on the night it airs a couple of days later. The over-bearing 'darkness' of it all (not that we don't appreciate SOME darkness, now) is growing tiresome. The whole series has become like a campfire - started out all bright, shiny, warm and exciting and has now burned down to lumps of glowering charcoal. Not sure how many hours more of my life I'm going to waste on it, truth be told.

If I had scifi... I wouldn't be downloading the torrents, I guess.

I stopped watching scifi when they axed Farscape (after promising a fith season). Just re-watched the series, and I still havn't forgiven them.

Still diggin this season of BSG, though.

Couldn't agree more. Don't know why everyone is hating on it so much.

My one word is gonna be CYLONSCYLONSCYLONS!!! For a show that started out priding itself on realism (no aliens, inertia, blah, blah) and being about placing believable and empathetic human characters in the most difficult, trying, and often morally ambiguous situations it seems that suddenly there are more cylon main characters than human ones.

Well, I'm off to order my, "Frak you! I'm following Starbuck" bumper sticker.

A lot of this trouble started at the end of S2 where everyone gets married up, preggers, drinks the iraqtica...and the die hard fans just sit back and drink the kool aide. The show was great for a short while but I knew the series had stopped being scifi once everyone was getting married or fighting in a boxing ring. The overall story arc has fallen apart, old shows like Babylon 5, SAAB and even the boring ST Enterprise did better story telling

SINGATE

This season there has been real emphasis on division. With roughly 39,000 people left they are still finding reasons to hate each other. After 3 years of running from and fighting the cylons I guess humanity came back to it's true enemy. The old standbys religion, politics, and legality have created a powder keg within the fleet. I fully expect some humans to be involved in polictical assassination or the outright destrucition of a vessel before the end of the series.

Even the cylons are turning on each other. It looks as though there will be an all out war between the 7, assuming Deanna is unboxed. I always wondered how the skin jobs justified using the centurions and raiders as slaves since they despised humanity for the doing the same thing. With their new found freedom it will be interesting to see if they participate in the war or turn on their former masters. Perhaps they will seek out a certain human to be their imperious leader...

People are watching it, just in new ways.

Sums up my thoughts perfectly. *sighs*

I am still watching, more out of reflex than any other reason. I have invested all this time to watch it I might as well see it through, right? Hopefully the pay off won't be as disappointing as the last season and change have been.

Again, I have to ask - how much of a climax were you expecting 4 episodes into a 20 episode season?

Did you really expect them to find Earth right away, and spend the rest of the season drinking margaritas on the beach?

Orgasmic.

Wait, no that's not it.

Frakkin' horrible.

Nope, that's two.

To be honest, I can't use just one word. I'll just say this. I like it so far. I'm trying to not overlay my own expectations on the storytellers. I'm just letting them take the story where they're going to take it. It gets boring watching everybody jump on the "let's-hate-on-this-cause-it's-fashionable" bandwagon. Oh, I know: many of you genuinely dislike it. But ever since the prequels, hating something that might/should be popular has seemed oh so avant garde. It gets old. Let's just see where they take the series. Because seriously? The cylons destroying themselves seems like a much more plausible ending than the humans winning the war does.

One word: twisted.

Seriously, the characters have gone so over-the-top with their reactions through Seasons 3 and 4...some of it I understand, some of it seems to be the writers just twisting their characterizations so much that they become unrecognizable.

But I'm still following it...even though I'm kind of glad it's wrapping up the storyline in this season.

One word? "Lost." Lost in the single-minded sub-plot of who is a Cylon or not: drawn out, over and again, getting more twisted at every turn. It all started with Boomer. Now that was original, gripping, and exciting. And now it's about nothing but who's a Cylon. Kinda reminds me of The Matrix II: in the first installment you had the one Mr. Smith, an original, great character. But by the time they did their first sequel, all of a sudden there were thousands of Mr. Smiths. At which time you know they frakked it up.

And sometimes people 'hate' a thing because they love it -- or wanted to love it. The Sarah Conner Chronicles leaps to mind: I *wanted* to love it, and thus became extra sensitive to its faults. That seem right to you?

Good point. And it would not be without a sense of irony, either: they modelled themselves after Man just a mite too well. And what was it that the Terminator said in T2? "It's in your nature to destroy yourselves." Right on.

That's what I was thinking! I've been wondering how they'd resolve the human/cylon war plot. Guess this might be a possible way to do that...
