Anyone else watch it? I felt it wasn't a waste of time but I'd probably be leery of watching a new series.

STRANGEBIRD

It wasn't that bad. The worst part was "The Hoff's" cameo. I've never much liked his acting. If you can call it that. Only good actor I can think of to ever grace a Baywatch series was Jason Momoa(Ronon on SGA).

Anyway I too would be a bit leery of a series. I'd give it a shot though. I gave Journeyman one big shot and went from not liking it at all to loving it by the end. Sad NBC didn't give it a fair shot. X-files ended it's first season very close to the bottom of the ratings list, closer than Journeyman I believe. Look what happened when Fox gave it a shot, they got their first big hit. Sad a decent series rarely gets a chance to grow these days. If they can make a winner out of Knight Rider I'd be willing to try it out.

Oh and the car is awesome. Another example of a prop FAR outshining the media it's in. Even without the AI I'd drive it. And I'm not a fan of the fast, flashy cars either. I'm a VW lover.

Sweet Jeebus, that was horrible!
Gave up 20 minutes in.
The acting, the writing, the camera work ... Made the original look like Citizen Kane.
Can't believe Val Kilmer got roped into doing KITT's voice.

You might want to step out of the 90's, Val hasn't done much for a while.

I recognize the following:

Knight Rider
1 episode of Numb3rs
1 episode of Entourage
Alexander (flop)
Wonderland

Hardly inspiring, our captain's been in more that I recognize without even counting the ones I only heard of because he was in them.

EDIT: compare to Denzel Washington for instance http://imdb.com/name/nm0000243/ he has a third of the number of entries as Val but I've heard of nearly all of them and seen most of them.

I liked "Comanche Moon", but then I am a fan of the entire Lonesome Dove series,

and I also liked Val in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

as for Denzel, the only thing he has done that I liked since Courage under Fire was Man on Fire. Mind you despite all the awards given to recent crime dramas my feeling is none stand up to Goodfellas.

But how many of Denzel's were big enough that you recognized them? I'm not particularly a Denzel fan myself but he's been in more movies that I've heard of than Val since 2000.

Oh and as another edit, Red Planet was a flop too.

I also really liked Spartan,

I'm likely a bad guy to pose the question to, I watch a ton of trailers and movies... and am on IMDB as often as I am on here. Not really a fan guy, but interested in the process. Plus I have friends who work on independent films, one is a producer so sometimes you wind up talking about really strange things.

I like Val, I would agree his projects as late has less glitz than some of the previous, I hope The Dirt http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800325/ could turn this around in a big way, as his portrayal of Jim Morrison did.

Doing the voice of KITT... likely a real easy payday, than keeps his name out there with a minimum of effort.

KR 2008 is a series? Thought it was a Ford commercial. Only Ford vehicles in all scenes. Even when the Suburban comes out, the GM grill emblem is removed so you might think it was a Frod.
At least they solved one of the most vexing of Sci Fi problems - how to make a mustang squeal or spin it's tires? just stand in a lake all the time. For this show, just keep the roadway soaked wherever the car will be. Guess Dodge still had the rights to squealing on gravel left over from Duke of Hazzard.
Real cars spin their fat tires on clean dry hot blacktop. Since GM stopped making them, they could have used a Viper.

KR 2008 is a backdoor pilot, meaning that if it does well it will be considered a pilot for a new series, if it does poorly it will be a stand-alone TV movie.

Wouldn't be hard to think that.

DATALESS

I saw it and it was ok. It wasn't terrible, it wasn't good either. The worst was when the truck smashes into Kitt and it didn't fly down the street (it just stopped the truck and kitt survived unscratched.) Oh Also driver of the truck survived as did the 90 year old man in the back seat on the passenger side of the car lived but the other people died. The Truck was driving about 60 - 90 mph.
