BUFFY - In whatever format they may release it in the future. I'm taking that with me until very old age.

Brimstone - if they ever release it.

Firefly - You can't live without genius right.

Angel - If there's Buffy, then there's Angel.

Northern Exposure - Uplifting and clever.

Lost - Love a good mystery.

Buck Rogers. Hey those guitar licks at the opening credits just take me right back to being a kid watching that show!

I really should have listed GG with my favorites. Honestly, I do not feel guilty about enjoying it, and I have all seven seasons. I did think I might get some flack about it though. Nice to see there are others that like it too. One time a woman tried to tell me that for a man to like GG was proof he was gay. I'm as straight as an arrow, but if liking GG makes me gay, I'll happily admit to being as gay as Capt. Jack Harkness.

SINGATE

I can say from experience it is a very good show. I own all 3 seasons and was an avid follower of the series when it originally aired. Season 2 is a bit different than 1 and 3, due in large part to Chris Carter handing over the reigns to another creative team. Many fans of the show regard the middle season as the red headed stepchild but I think there is a lot of worthwhile material there.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the great characters and the actors who portrayed them. Lance Henriksen is at his best in portraying the lead character, Frank Black. Terry O'Quinn, known to current TV viewers from his role on Lost does a great job as the enigmatic Peter Watts. Perhaps the most interesting character in the series is Lucy Butler. She only appears in a few episodes over the entire run of the series but what an impression she leaves.

I won't go on about the particulars of the series, I'll leave that for you to discover if you so chose, suffice is to say I don't think you will be disappointed if you pick up these DVDs.

I also have a lean towards cancelled shows. Ugh.

Firefly (duh)

Stargate Atlantis (I don't like SG-1, but SGA is great)

My So Called Life (Yeah, it's melodramatic, but it's emotional mess goodness)

Freaks and Geeks (because my best friend and I watched it every week it was on until it disappeared)

Joan of Arcadia 1&2 (good show)

Wonderfalls (great show)

Eureka (fun show)

Oz (another good show)

X-Files (pre-season 6)

Xena (I know it's cheesy)

DS9 (loved it)

Lost (cause it's the first show I got caught up in that much)

I'm sure there's a ton I'm missing.

I find I have limited capacity for re-re-watching old TV shows. BSG (new) is good, but once you've seen it, you've seen it. It was good to re-watch Babylon 5 after 10 years - but it'll be another 10 years before I feel inclined to plough through it again.

Two I do keep coming back to are:

1. Firefly/Serenity - I won't bother preaching to the choir.

2. Ultraviolet (the late 90s UK mini-series, not the US film) - for me, this represents everything that Torchwood promised (and failed to deliver) by way of the supernatural meeting gritty real-world topics. The director/writer seems to be a "usual suspect" on Dr Who, too, so there's no excuse). To rub salt into the wound, one of the UV actresses turned up on Torchwood this week...

Well, yes, Dark Angel was a good show. However, between re-watching "Serenity" and watching "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" my "Watching big bads get beat up by a 90 lb girl" needs are being adequately met by the incomparable Ms Glau.

Any more such indulgence could spoil the anticipation for "The Dollhouse" (and, hopefully, Ms Dushku kicking the out of some bad guys - unless Joss has gone and done something stupid like growing up).

(Plus we in the UK are just now getting the opportunity to see the chick from Jeckell and Hyde trading bionic blows with Starbuck - although its so dark and rainy that it could be anybody).

Firefly Don't even get me started...
Andy Richter Controls the Universe The funniest show of the 21st Century, disgracefully not yet available
The Tick Browncoat Ben Edlund's finest half hour (or nine thereof)
Kitchen Confidential "I don't know why I love you..." Oh, that's right, Morena Baccarin falling down drunk, episode 11
Undeclared Unquestionally funny and real, my favourite Judd Apatow/Seth Rogen vehicle

My self imposed rules are:
five shows
SINGLE SEASON ONLY SHOWS!

That leaves no room for Scrubs, BlackAdder, Fawlty Towers, Veronica Mars, 3rd Rock From the Sun, 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men, Blake's 7 or Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby (except that only season one of that is available on dvd.)

I make no apologies for the dominance of comedy in my list.

I ordered "Queen of Swords" last week along with the TV series "Twelve O'Clock High". I did not know "Twelve O'Clock High" was available untill I started searching through sites selling obscure DVD's.

The DVD site sends me an Email every day telling they are both backordered. I have am collecting the Emails for the fun of it. I have seven so far. Each tells me I can cancel my order if I choose not to wait. I think I will give them a little more time. I am enjoying the Emails.

When I have about thirty of them I think I will reply to each one all at once and see if they continue sending more.
