Hey y'all, was just wondering if any other coats are fans of SciFi's neat little show Eureka? Also, wanted to post that todays episode just made me smile a little happy smile for Jack... not going into details for those of you who do watch the show and somehow missed tonights, but it was a good one

I am really digging how the character dynamics have shifted this season. Last year it was Jack & Henry vs. the evils of the world. Now we are seeing other relationships develope, or in some cases re-develope.

The character who has grown the most over the two seasons has got to be Stark. For a while he was the semi big bad. Since his demotion he has become a bit more down to earth. The triangle that has formed between Jack, Henry, and Stark is the highlight of the show for me at this point.

There must have been an unstated time shift in this week's episode. At the end it suddenly seemed like Valentine's Day...

I'm a big Jack Carter fan. And of Zoey. I'm glad that SciFi plays the previous weeks ep on Tues, before the new ep.

I wanna trust Stark, and of course Henry , but not yet. I'm not convinced of either's motives .

It's looking more and more like Jack's alternative reality isn't going to happen, and that kinda makes me feel sad for him.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Heh, I LOVE that dynamic as well... also, I -THINK- that the whole shift deal was just a "date night" type thing, or... something... also, it was Jacks 1 year annaversiry (I'm terrible with spelling, I know) of comeing to Eureka... I'm kinda interested in where they are gunna go with the whole Jack/(oh CRAP!!! I've forgotten her NAME!!! *whacks head against desk*) angle

But of course! Also, next week looks like the Valentine's Day episode in BTVS where all the womanfolk in Sunnydale become obsessed with Xander. Still one of my favorites.

Hullo again all Eureka fans!!! Another tuesday night has come and gone, and we have gotten to see Jack get mauled by women... mighty amusing I must say I hope you can all find your way back, and I have changed the name of the thread, incase nobodies noticed As the new thread suggests, I'm considering makeing this a weekly (after every Eureka season 2 episode) discussion of what happened that week, and where you'd like to see it go from there, and any quotes/comments/whatever that you find amusing, feel free to post 'em here... Don't know why, just seems like something I will enjoy doing, and I hope I don't scare anyone off by saying that I'd like to discuss them... If ya feel like just commenting on the nights episode, thats still cool too!! Just a warning, because this is turning into a possible weekly discussion deal, I'm gunna stop using the spoiler deals and all, cause it would get kinda old posting everything we would like to discuss in spoilers... I'm kinda rambaling on now, so I'll just leave it at this for now

I was thinking this episode was going to remind me of Xander's "ordeal" in BTVS but it didn't quite measure up. Not that it was bad but it didn't make me laugh nearly as much. It reminded me more of the Northern Exposure episode where they discover a spring which has an interesting effect on the population.

More interesting to me is the other plotline which has been running throughout the season. Now it looks as though Henry is being set up to become something of a bad guy. Already he has been dishonest with Carter and now that Stark and Allison have teamed up against him he may feel like there is nothing else to lose. I get the feeling he is going to do something desperate really soon.

Oh yeah... I noticed that as well, I could see his face darkening, if that makes any sense, after Stark told him that there was nothing for him to know... I have a feeling that he may do just what Stark and Allison were worried would happen... i.e. eather tell Jack all that he knows, or go straight to the DOD with the information on the artifact and how it is connected with Alli's son... Poor Henry is gunna get royally screwed over this season, I can just FEEL it... I also kinda like the sub plots involving romance in Eureka... makes me happy that Jack found someone that he cares for there, other than his daughter, and Jo and her beu... just good happy stuff all around... glad that Jack isn't pining away after Allison again this season... I really enjoy Jack and Starks interplay now as well... there are some truely FUNNY things going on with their dialogue like last night...
Stark: "So your saying that he is Hannibl Lecter?"
Jack: "Yeah, a homicidal genious, kinda like you, without the killing"
Stark: "Give me a minute..." (I know I probably didn't get that quote right... but I think you all got the idea of what quote I'm talking about... )

I am really worried about Henry..( plus the actor made noises about quitting after first season so I'm hoping he stays)
I really don't know why he'd hold out on Jack and I feel it's completely unfair of him to blame Jack for Kim's death...what was Jack supposed to to, let the whole universe be destroyed so Henry could be happy?? OK I never really thought of Henry as selfish until then. I am really glad they're moving away from the Jack/Stark/Allison triangle and let Jack find someone who suits him.

Just now a strange, random thought/comment poped into my head... How come the people of Eureka, being so smart and all, can't figure out workable solutions in crisis situations? I mean, come on folks, it really wouldn't take a genious to see that Henry wasn't affected by the spores... so, cause and effect, if Henry wasn't affected, what was different about him? The asthma medicine? Well... hmmm, heres a genious idea, lets try pumping the asthma medicine through the towns ventailation system, 'cause, ya know, the spores are only being transported by that, and if the asthma medicine will block and absorb said spores.... So much for a town full of geniouses if Carter wasn't there, they all wouldda died in the first season, probably during Jacks first day there... silly geniouses...

Wow....so many plot twists. I'm glad Jack is finding a new interest, outside the office. I'm still sorta stuck on the alternative future though, not just for Jack's sake, but also for Jo. I had high hopes of seeing her explore her naturalist experiences.

So, what's the deal here? Is the transmuting bacteria story a line of b.s.? Did Beverly and Henry simply dream that up as way to get to the kid ? What' Henry got up his sleeve ?

God, I HOPE its a line of BS, but from the preview for next week, it doesn't look like it's going to be... anyone get glimmerings of "House Rules" from the preview? lol, I know I did, with the whole "Death Ray" thingy... god, this seasons finale looks AMAZING and I can't WAIT to see what Henry has up his sleeve... I KNEW something like this would happen if they kept refusing Henry's need to do research on Kims accident... Henry is a SCAREY smart guy, and I was positive that he had some idea that Brian was involved with him getting shut down...

The one thing I'm hanging my hat on that it IS a hoax is when Jack talked to Nathan after Henry had told him the bad news about the bacteria, and Nathan had no idea what Jack was talking about. Nathan's immediate reaction was that it was a cover story, and that Henry was plotting something. That tells me that Henry and Beverly had cooked up some phony ploy to shut down G.D., with them and Kevin inside.

Seems to me that the writers wrapped things up at the end of season 2 w/ out knowing if there would be a season 3 or not.

Looking back, I'm a bit torn that Jack gave up on Allison so quickly. Did his memory of their time together fade as he returned to the current timeline? Or did Henry mind swipe him ? I forget, myself. Jo and 'Tag' seem to have some hint of possible hooking up , down the line, but alas, Jack seems destined to lose Allison in this timeline forever.

That sucks.

I forget, is Kevin the son of Allison and Nathan? If so, why is he darker than either one of them ? Seems odd.

Having just finished watching all of season one in one night of mad fannish driven need (yes I own the first season on DVD).... Allison was married once before she was married to stark, her son is from that previous marraige... Also, Henry DID mindswipe Jack, so he has forgotten all about the previous timeline... I don't know, this ending did seem well wrapped up, and the whole ending deal with the foucus on Henry's jacket and hat... *whimpers* for some reason it struck me much like the picture "Serenity by Gaslight," and I'm really worried for season 3 now... who the hell is gunna be the everyman and dumber down for Jack now??? The thing I liked the most though, was when you see Jack and Stark reach an understanding... I can't wait for season 3 (just like I can't wait for season 2 to come out on DVD... lol) Also, fun fact, Eureka is one of SciFi's most watched shows this year... so I hope that trend continues so that the show may live on!!!

Ok, then that sorta explains things, per Allison , Kevin and Stark. But where'd Kevin get his uber brains from ? Allison is clearly smart, but Stark was the brains of their marriage, and he's a friggin rock star genius. Seems to me that Kevin's father would have to be as/ near as smart as Stark is, which tells me it'd be someone Stark would have to know. But I digress....

Thanks for clarifying Jack being mind erased by Henry. I don't like how Henry turned out, not one bit. I liked him better before.
