America loves a winner!

Really neat documentary about the characters and plots of SW and how they reflect classic mythologies of Western and Eastern cultures, as well as the old American frontier. What's cool about this program is cross section of writers, film makers and even political figures who add their views on all things great which make up SW. Comments come from the likes of Stephen Colbert, Newt Gingrigh, to Kevin Smith,( a really thin ) Peter Jackson and yes....Joss Whedon ! Makes for some entertaining viewing, imo.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

He's shown up a couple of times, the latest as the topic goes to discussing Palpatine's grab of power, much like Hitler did in Germany.

Also, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather add their 2 cents in, as well as Dr Camille Paglia. Quite a collection of folks, to be sure.

TVGuide dot com says that it will re-show next 2 weekends - Sunday the 3rd, 8pm and Midnight, and Saturday the 9th at 5pm.

My two complaints are:
#1 Not enough Joss! (of course)
#2 When they show clips from the original trilogy, they use the "spiced up" versions.

MAL "You only gotta scare him."
JAYNE "Pain is scary..."

sorry, i'm a SW geek, i have to defend...
episodes 1-3 may have had some bad acting/writing but the saber fights were awesome, the movies themselves LOOKED really good and Obi-wan Kenobi was insanely cool (I even grew a beard).

although i have to partly agree with you and say that If Obi-wan wasn't talking, they weren't showing really cool cityscapes with flying cars and spaceships, or lightsabers weren't clashing my mind starts to wander about how cool it would be to own a flying car of my own....

Obi-wan aside, it's tough for ANY movie to overcome the suckyness of Jar-Jar Binks. Messah sooo sowwie !

REAVERMAN

Uggghh! I'd almost forgotten about Jar-Jar! Why'dya have to bring HIM up, AU? Gods, I haven't watched Ep I in four years because of him.

Jar-Jar aside, I have to say that that was one damn fine show. I tivo'ed "The Legacy Revealed" last week, and have already watched it twice. It was really an eye-opener to see that while G. Lucas may be terrible with dialogue, and is (according to the actors) a bad director (he didn't tell Mark Hamill that Vader was Luke's father until 5 minutes before they shot the "I am your father" scene, giving him almost no time to prepare), he apparently made up for it with the sheer volume of classical references throughout both trilogies.

"I refuse to submit,
To the god you say is kind.
I know what's right, and it is time,
It's time to fight, and free our minds!

Our spirits were forged in snow and ice,
To bend like steel forged over fire.
We were not made to bend like reed,
Or to turn the other cheek!"

- from the song "Thousand Years of Opression" by Amon Amarth

I had to respond to what Jendrick said, a self adimtted SW geek, and reveal the bad w/ the good. It was a harsh thing for me to dredge up bad memories, but I apologize for nothing. It's Lucas who should apologize to ALL of us.

Well yeah, obi-wan aside. I mean, those movies were nice looking, cool fights, obi-wan was cool... but there were so many badly written/delivered lines in there I wanted to gag also. After seeing episode II the first thing i did was hit up a dive bar and drink. I thought he would have got the picture after Ep. 1, nope, still bad.

I'm just sayin, whenever someone says the prequels suck i have to say "well, yeah, but obi-wan ruled". I mean c'mon... "You were the chosen one!"

to be honest, i'd rather see him as one of serenity's crew than having to share the screen with a bunch of lame asses... but that would be crossing genres (one can dream) that would be awesome... Kenobi getting into bar fights with Mal (he got into enough of them on his own)..
