Heya, something came to my attention this week, and since we're Flans, and thus by our very nature fans of "Lost Causes", I figured I would pass this tidbit around in case of folk interest.

They're doing a release of a re-mastered DVD version of The Last Unicorn, which I had intended to (and eventually did) pick up today, but in the doing noted that the original creator kinda got the F*X Networks treatment over this work, and some previous, and it strikes me that we could apply a little non-aggressive moral persuasion if we desired to do so in assistance of him getting his due.

Having contacted Conlan Press directly, they're confident that at this point Mr. Beagle will be given his due, however, buying via Conlan will put funds directly in the authors pocket immediately, which is something we can do while the general public buys via amazon or what have you.

Also, fans of Mr. Beagle will also be delighted to know that he's written a coda story as kind of a bridge from the original work to an unintended, but almost inevitable (at this point) sequel story in the works.

Anyhows, that soon-to-arrive DVD has a reserved spot on the shelf of honor next to my Firefly DVDs, and I might pick up Two Hearts as well.

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it

Just an update on the release.

Conlan Press expected to sell about 400 copies.
Orders have cleared 3000 and more.

So, shipping might be a bit slow, especially in the case of a signed 25th anniversary edition cause it takes time for Peter to unpack em and sign in three places... I hope we don't give him carpal tunnel !

And, for thems that ordered via Conlan and helped put some of Peters due in his pocket where it belongs..

Thank you, thank you very much, mere words cannot express it, but they'll have to do.

Wow, Frem...I had no idea this was going on.

Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. What a travesty.
I think I would have bought a copy at Best Buy or wherever if I had seen it. Now, I'll buy through this website.

Thanks for the head's up!

EDIT: I grabbed this composite pic of caps from the movie. Some may remember this from their childhood but can't quite place the name.

I LOVED this movie as a kid. I can seriously remember it making me cry.

I'll need to pick it up.
