Gah. He must have spent so long on it... and if Joss is Joss, he'd have poured so much of himself into it.

Is it Hollywood's mission to kick this talented man as many times in the crotch until he cries "Uncle" and writes crass, derivative junk like the rest of them?

You are right about that. I'm not sure there is anybody as right for that project as Joss. Spilled milk though.

It's not so much the writing of Firefly that needs to be done as getting somebody to put up the costs of production. I'm sure Joss could crank out script after script if the moguls stepped up with the lucre.

Besides...he's working on bringing Goners to life. The new Firefly comics will be out soon. Buffy season 8 is on the horizon. AND he's got Runaways to do too.

I think Joss had fallen deeply in love with comic books. He already loved them, it just seems he's doing a lot of work in the genre right now.

He does seem to have a lot of fans in the comic book industry.

Did you read his XMen stuff? Very good.

I'm just starting to get into Runaways. Look slike Joss is doing some interesting things to the youngens. I didn't read any of the after-Buffy things. The only things I know about her are what happened on Angel. I can't wait to read Season 8.

Here's to Better Days!

Exactly, herein lies the problem.

Joss can write a few dozen more seasons of Firefly. It won't matter if he's not (A) doing something that pays enough to keep him and his family fed and clothed, and (B) well-known enough to get anyone to buy all these Firefly scripts.

Wonder Woman could've been Joss' blockbuster (maybe even featuring Blockbuster). Could've made him a household name in Hollyweird, where it counts.

Important people don't do field work.

TWG...you wouldn't be waiting on Better Day because a couple of people we know posed for the cover, would you?

Runaways, hands down, has been one of the best comics I've ever read right out of the gate, and they haven't been afraid to hurt the characters, and make lasting changes in it. Sounds like someone I already know.

I can't wait to see what he does with it. His X-Men stuff was fantastic, and Those Left Behind definitely had his big thumbprint all over it.

I see him coming off Wonder Woman as a blow, but not a crippling one. He's demonstrated time and again that he can take a dead ball and run with it, making it a vast cult fandom. I don't see his next film/TV project as any different. Be it Goners or anything else.

That being said, his head is turned to Goners, and I don't see him returning to the 'verse anytime soon. As much as I might desperately want it. I can see him directing established shows for now, until he can get what backing he needs for his very own movie. Something that didn't start somewhere else.

But...yes, Better Days. By all descriptions, something I'm very much looking forward to.

Especially the covers.
