Booster Entertainment apologizes for the great inconvenience, but due to unforeseen circumstances, Flanvention is cancelled. An official notice will be posted within 10 days.

Well...the people over at Booster Events better have some vulcanologist-level hotsuits ready to go cuz there's gonna be a riot of epic proportions and lots of flaming Oh...and some body armour might go a long way too

Still...while I never planned on attending Flan 2, there's supposedly 500 fans on their way to California for the bloody thing, so I am feeling mighty POed for them right now. Especially since the airlines and hotels are getting to keep the $$$ that's been spent on transport and accomodations.

So...fellow Browncoats, what say you? Remember...keep you vitriol on the safe side of civil. Don't need the mediators getting all cuz one of us got too carried away with venting

P.S. After posting, I noticed I set this thread up in the "Other Science Ficiton Series" thread category. Is there anyway to move it?

Oh, the BBB is basically back on, danniisupernova. The SoCal Browncoats are going at fullburn to get the BBB ready to roll...mostly while they're rolling along themselves

For more discussion and news, head on over to http://whedonesque.com/comments/11988 for the thread there, since this is where I picked up the news.

Well, on the Whedonesque thread whose link I posted, theonetrueb!x said they will have mucho news ready tomorrow. Sorry I can't be of more help...I'm a Canuck Browncoat trying to help spread the signal

I would advise metaphorically camping out at the SoCal Browncoat Yahoo! page ( http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalBrowncoats/) for up-to-date news.

Here's the word re: donating to a Backup Bash. While the earlier web form

http://www.sfbrowncoats.com/backupbash/

doesn't apepar to have been resurrected, the PayPal email address to whichy ou can donate funds is:

backupbash@sfbrowncoats.com

This comes directly from lexigeek. As with the plans before, if funds are not used, they will be refunded.

Further update: The hotel question is up in the air. There's an indication that due to liability issues, Backup might not be able to contract for space. The hotel will be discussing the mater with its attorneys in the morning to see if something can be worked out.

In the meantime, the NoCal/SoCal Browncoats are busily at work trying to come up something that hundreds of Browncoats can do.
