Well, if we're having favourite robot threads, least we can do is turn some love to the cyborgs.

Who's your favourite? Perhaps one of Section 9 from Ghost in the Shell, or Robocop, or maybe the Borg Collective (the TNG version, not the Voyager ones), or maybe Seven of Nine in particular (despite the show, she was a pretty interesting character). Maybe you're a fan of Seamus Zelazny Harper, Su-u-upergenius (from Andromeda), or Lord Darth Vader (the other end of the spectrum in almost every way). Are you kicking it old-school with the Cybermen or the Daleks, or the Six-Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman? (Anybody remember the 80s cartoon/toyline The Bionic Six?) Let's not forget DC comics' Brainiac, Metallo, or Cyborg himself.

Not to toot my own horn, but in some circles, I am considered a cool, deadly, and heart-breakingly human-like cyborg.

Alright, maybe not that human.

Although, not counting myself, Xris Cyborg, of Mag Force 7. Margaret Weis and Don Perrin, check it out.

Got to be Robocop for me. 1 & 2 explored his loss of humanity, and we'll just forget about 3, lol.

That said, second favourite probably goes to the Galaxy Rangers (short lived cartoon series). They had some pretty cool abilities.

7of9

I believe they put her on the show just for sex appeal,
but her character actually seemed to have very serious plot lines.

I must say I quite liked General Grievous in SW III. It's not often you see alien cyborgs, and not often with a nasty cough either. Neat touch, that the biological part of a cyborg could still get ill.

EMBERS

In Angel's 5th season they were attacked by cyborg's (who seemed to be creating diversion/cover for the android pretending to be Wesley's father)....
I totally loved that, and wished that Joss had explored it further.

Of course Buffy's 4th Season had as it's Big Bad and kick-ass (IMO) Cyborg in Adam!

And I dearly loved the Dalek...who can resist their plantive cries: EXTERMINATE EXTERMINATE
sigh

7of9 was incredible, majestic and full of conflict, at first blush she appears to be just an adolenscent boy's sex fantasy and then it turns out that she really had depth and layers of interest.....

BUT but my all time favorite would have to be Locutus of the Borg (our altered Captain Picard)...because he was amazing - and really freaked me out)

I'll even include 3 in there. It's heart was in the right place, you know, figurativly speaking...

Your move, creep Chrisisall

I must admit a certain fondness for the early days of Deathlock (Marvel Comics). And of course maybe not my favorite, but certainly the one who taught us all what a cyborg was (at least we pop culture suckling piglets): Steve Austin. Most terrifying: the Borg. Just 'cause.

While I spent my youth watching the Six Milion Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman...I'll have to go with Daleks.

Actually, just to be a real pain in the ass here, Daleks are not cyborgs in the true sense of the word; instead, they are god-awful nasty little creatures with miniature tanks to drive (oh, i know i'm gonna piss some people off with this).

Interestingly, no one mentioned my own perosnal favorite "cybernetic organism"--the T-100 Terminator.

Incidentally, Cybermen were cyborgs, for what it's worth.

My personal favorite has always been Kris Kristofferson's character from 1993's Knights...one of those bad movies you can't turn away from...

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

If the Cylon skinjobs qualify as cyborgs, then my vote goes to Sharon Valerii.

Your all forgetting Amitage from Armitage III: Poly-Matrix and Dual Matrix. Great anime if you haven't seen them, though Poly is much better than Duel.

Doesn't Shepherd Book wear glasses to read his bible?

That makes him a cyborg, what with the mechanical corneas and all. And that makes him my favorite.

I like Data, even if he really isn't a cyborg...

I would say Deckard (Harrison Ford) in Blade Runner...or isn't he a replicant...I just don't know!

I guess since Boomer has been taken, I'll pick the lovely Tricia Helfer as Six.
