I don't feel the need to just see a female kick ass (although it's always appreciated if it's well done), can any recommend AF as a good movie?

It was alot better then I expected, but on the other hand I didnt expect much of it. Wouldnt recomend you to buy it though, might be worth renting though.

I just rented it yesterday. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I'll let you know what I think once I have. I have to admit, even though I've heard it's bad, I still think it looks pretty cool.

It's very pretty! But not much else. Like Ultra Violet. Ya kind of just want to mute it and let the pretty pretty colors entertain you. Charlese Theron kicks ass very well but you kind of see the ending comeing even if you never saw the animated version.

I agree with the other posters. It was okay. The story is a bit...... werid but it is still reasonably enjoyable. Of course, I saw it on a cross country flight from the west coast so there was not a whole lot else to do. :\

I don't know about the movie, but I would definitely recommend the animated Aeon Flux series that was on Mtv back in the early 90's. My husband and I used to watch their show Liquid TV just to see the next installment of Aeon...

It's edgy, sexy, gruesome, and downright bizarre. You gotta love it...Aeon would die at the end of each episode.

I think the whole series is $29.95 on Amazon.

Just saw it the other day. Like the previous posts, it was better than I expected, but I wasn't expecting too much :)

Some cool fight scenes, and some interesting sci-fi tech stuff going on. (And Clive Owen actually looks quite a bit like Trevor from the animated show.)

I'd agree, it's a good rental, but if you're looking to buy I'd go with the original animated stuff.

I only caught a couple of the animated episodes.

Like most of the posts here (actually this thread is the reason I rented it in the first place) it was... alright. It wasn't terrible. I really liked the premise.

Definitely a renter. But bear in mind, this comes from a guy that wants to buy Starship Troopers 2 just because it's Starship Troopers 2 and not because it's a particularily good film. So if I were a fan, I'd probably buy it any way. I mean, I could buy worse films... like Starship Troopers 2.

Consider yourself lucky. I saw this in the theater and it was definitely not worth my $7. There is no character developement, and the action scenes aren't even that great.

Please don't throw unlabeled cans of food at me, but I liked it. It's just a straight up sci-fi. Nothing too original, seen it all done before; but the production quality makes it better then most. I have to say I wasn't a big fan of the ending (it's not a bad ending, I just didn't like it). In general it's a glossy, pretty sci-fi, with lots of eye-candy. Sure it's no Serenity, but then again, other then Serenity, what is? I would recommend renting it, where I live you can still get a one-night rental for $1, so it's no big deal. At the very least it's fun to look at, I liked it more then that, but it sounds like I'm the only one.

I'm looking forward to seeing it too, I'm still kind of worried the acting might not be up to par but your words alay my fears... It didnt really get great reviews, but then again alot of movies don't that I love so I hope I'll like this.

I saw some of the animated Aeon Flux though.... Really weird... Didnt like the episode where Goodchild messed with taht lady's spine... jsut plain freaky.
