Just a casual observation that I noticed recently...

After re-watching Firefly to death, again (with most of my family), I picked up on the adverts for Battlestar Galactica and ended up buying the Miniseries and series 1, to try and sate our compulsion for Sci-Fi! So far, things are turning out nicely; not far into series 1, but we're tying things together and are quite absorbed!

Just wondered if anyone else noticed the appearance (seemingly) of 'Serenity' in the Galactica Miniseries? During the yet-to-become President's meeting with her Doctor (about 14 minutes and 8 seconds in), you can see what appears to be a Firefly class craft coming in to land through the Doctor's windows, approaching from the right to the bottom left.

Wow! Could this mean a reappearance of our much beloved Firefly crew amongst the ranks of the Colonial Battlestar Galactica BG-75? Just a thought.

(maybe I'm missing Firefly too much?)

Someone had a cool screenshot of that scene in BSG, I'm the world's worst at finding links, but you might try the Blue Sun Room up top.

It is our beloved Serenity ( or at least a Firefly class ship) and because the same company that did the special effects for Firefly do BSG they put her in. For fun and because they could. Cool huh?

I don't think we'll be seein' Mal and co. anytime soon with the fleeing Galactica folks, but it was really fun to see the ship!

Oh, and by the way, you are new! Or at least you've never posted before... so... you need a browncoat since you've joined up.

*hands FlyGuy a regulation 'coat*

Welcome home.

Yep, just a nice little easter egg from Zoic. The creators of BSG have cited Firefly as a conscious inspiration, too, which I guess made getting Zoic a natural choice and sneaking Serenity in there almost inevitable.

It's my understanding that at some point in the miniseries you can also spot the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701) in the fleet.

I've just gotten hooked on BSG, too. Hell of a show.

I've known about this for a long time, probably since it happened, but never have I actually seen it before. Were it not for you I might have never seen that screencap.

Anyway.

Welcome here, we're weird.

The only initation we (meaning I) have is to tell you to spread the word, if you want more we need more people, we need them in love, we need them buying the DVDs themselves, and we need them spreading the word themselves.

Ok so here's the deal, you've been here four days, though I think it was only three when I started typing this post (Note to self: Sleep) you've posted twice and only in one thread. That means you need to get out more.

We're good people here, look around and you might like us, or be disgusted, that's possible too, but were I the betting type I'd say you'd like us.

More importantly we have been drawn together by a love of something in a way that most people have never had the joy of understanding. We are all family here, and you are one of us.

Welcome home and for god's sake (or gods' sakes since this is a Galactica thread) look around the rest of the board and speak up a bit.

Glad to be able to help out, and I do intend to 'get out more'!

Even though they "can't stop the signal", its a tad difficult when your hard drive goes west, and I've been world-bound for a time. now I'm back online, I'll start checking out the rest of the 'verse!

Hope to catch ya out there later!

"Can't stop the signal... for long!"
