I just saw three trailers for new shows on Fox and they were all just dumbed down cheap knockoffs (I call them Foxoffs) of other shows. Bones is a CSI rip for people who can’t follow the multiable storylines of CSI. Reunion is a 24 rip but with pretty young people with an I.Q. of 25 that wear stylish jackets in 80 degree Californa heat which Fox knows we all want to watch, sort of 24 meets the O.C. While there is some other show (I forgot the name already, but they solve the most “deviant” crimes in LA) that is a rip of The Inside! They cancel their own show them make a Foxoff of it!

There are a few Sci-Fi shows on the other networks (Invasion and something else) but I’m not sure which one to watch but one has Data from Star Trek in it so I might watch that. But the one I surely be watching is ‘E-Ring’, Aircraft Carriers, Submarines, and Commandos-sweet! …I just hope it doesn’t suck.

In a word...
No.

TV hasn't interested me since at LEAST the OJ circus, and was boring me half to death even before that... I took a chance on Firefly, as it appeared to be something worth my time, and f*x crapped all over it.

So the Zenith Dynacolor (yes, I know it's a relic) is back in the closet where it belongs collecting dust.

I'd like to check out Bones just to see how David does. Otherwise, I have no intrest in the show.
I really don't like TV. I know everyone says that. If I do watch soemthing I have to do it alone. The main reason is I HATE explaining things to people, and if my husband, whom I love dearly, is watching anything with me he asks stupid questions. (i.e. is that the bad guy? So who's this kid's dad again? Who shot J.R.?) The main problem with these sort of questins is usually he's been watching the entire time, and he knows just as much as I do. Usually the questions he asks are the whole point of an episode, and noone is supposed to know the answer yet.
What is worse is when he come in at the very end of an episode and makes me explain how we got up to this point. Not such a big deal if I'm only a few minutes in, but more often than not, the show's almost over, and he expects me to rehash the entire story for him.

Wow . . .that got way off topic. Yeah, so I'm thinking I might want to check out Bones to get my David fix.

The answer is "no". There aren't any new shows I'm "looking forward to". First of all I have limited definition of "shows" in the context of questions like this. And that is that "shows" to me mean the programming from one of the six broadcasts networks in prime time that is either an hour-long or a sitcom.

I realize this limits cable, reality shows, and late night programming. It's not that these aren't "shows" it's just that prime-time, non "reality" programming is what I think of when a question like this is posed. It also probably has a lot to do with age.

There are a handful of new shows I will check out but if it weren't for the fact that three or more of them involve Buffy/Angel alumni I wouldn't bother. The other ones have a concept that intrigues me enough that I'll check them out at least once. But it's not like I can't wait for them to come on.

By contrast, when I found out Joss Whedon had a new show coming on called FIREFLY, I was really looking forward to that!

What a long answer just to say "no".

I'm only looking forward to new seasons of shows I was already watching. The only "new" show that has me curious enough to bother with watching an ep. is "supernatural" on WB. After what FOX did to The Inside, I'll not be bothering with anything else they offer. 'Less I suffer a severe brain injury. Most ads I've seen look like rehasing of old ideas, and I'm sick of the networks doing the "we heard the other guys are doing a show about water, quick do a show about a water." Bored.

Visit WWW.Marillion.Com for a better way to live
Visit www.TheInside.org and see Tim Minear's show Weds. 9:00pm EST.....ah FUX nevermind.

I've got my eye on this series too. From the look of this season's selection, it seems this one has a lot of potential. The concept is intriguing and it would be interesting to see where the writers would take it.

I'm probably not a typical Browncoat in this regard but I'm looking forward to the MLB playoff chase, the NFL season, hockey coming back, college basketball starting up in November...

You get the picture. As for actual new TV shows (or old ones for that matter), No.

ARE there any new shows. Plural. Are.

Sorry. The bad grammer was making me twitchy. I couldn't take it anymore.

And my answer is no. But then again, I don't watch much TV, so I don't really know what's out there.

well I can't say that I'm looking forward to any shows...
I'll tune in to see David Boreanez (Angel) in Bones
and altho I expect to hate it, I'll watch James Marsters (Spike) as Brainiac on Smallville
and I don't want to miss Alyson Hannigan (Willow) in How I Met Your Mother
or Nicholas Brendon (Xander) in Kitchen Confidential
(these last two will probably get cancelled right away, so I need to catch them before they are gone)
Christian Kane (Lindsay) is supposed to be in some cool cowboy thing...
and isn't Seth Green (Oz) in a new show? Something besides his work on Robot Chicken and The Family Guy, I mean.

No, I'm not really looking forward to any of them, but I'll be watching them for ole lang syne

Not looking FORWARD to anything new but I'm very happy to hear about another smart, challenging show that was cancelled after just one season is coming out on DVD soon...

"Universal Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced American Gothic: The Complete Series for release on October 25th. The spooky series, which debuted on CBS in 1995, has become a cult hit with fans over the last decade. The three-disc set will include twenty-two episodes, including four previously unaired, presented in fullscreen and Dolby Digital Surround. Bonus materials will include a commentary track on the pilot episode and deleted/extended scenes. retail will be $49.98."

"Appears they've cancelled the show and we're still here. What does that make us?"
"Big damn junkies, Sir!"
"Ain't we just."

The only thing that's really caught my eye is Prison Break. It seems very arc-heavy (always a plus), has been getting raves from TV critics and begins with a bank robbery. So there's that.

I'll also catch Everybody Hates Chris because the idea of Chris Rock meeting Wonder Years makes me giggle.

Battlestar Galactica on SciFi. That's about it. It's not new, but it is the newest thing on TV I watch. There is also Weird America on the History channel. Not sure if that is new this season or a carryover from last.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

Odd as it sounds, I'm looking forward to re-runs.

Space picked up Season 5 of Andromeda starting in September.
Space also picked up the original Battlestar Gallactica that they'll play in September.
I watched the first season of the 4400 mini-series (which I guess isn't a mini-series) and I'm guessing they'll eventually play the second up here...

And finally, Charlie Jade which I've only just started watching. They're still playing new episodes but I hope they send it South soon because it is definitely an original show and worth a watch.

Speaking of Canada I’ve recently started liking a comedy import on PBS about a American News Anchorman who joins a Canadian morning show. I forget what its called but its good.

Also I’m looking forward to NCIS, but I’m cautious with how they handle last seasons ending.

Beside what has been mentioned already,

I'm looking forward to season two of Veronica Mars...

I caught it in reruns, and got a little hooked

decent writing, and really love the casting
Enrico Colantoni from Just Shoot Me is great, and Kristen Bell really seems to slide into this role nicely... Love her expressions at times, really communicates without saying anything.

Don't really know where the show will go with most of the plot wrapped up in the first season, but hope they can repeat their season one performance.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned MY NAME IS EARL yet. That is the one show I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season because of one man........

JASON LEE.

I'd devote half an hour of my week to him just sitting in front of a camera not doing anything. That's how fucking good he is.

Plus "The Unit" and "E-Ring", two dramas with a 24 vet in each of them.

But for me, it's going to be my usual bunch of shows I watch (I 'm a reserved tv junkie.) I'm just happy ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is back for a third year.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

By the by...when does Bones premire??

Reunion isn't like 24 at all. 24 is a real time action/adventure drama. Reunion is a charcter show/ murder mystery where each episode takes place over a year. I am not sure if I will like or hate it, but I will give it a try.

I am looking most forward to Prison break, Invasion, and My Name is Earl.

Surface, Supernatural, and The Night Stalker could be good.

Although I will give Threshold a try, I am really skeptical, especially after seeing the previews with a dwarf on the investigating team. You can call me prejudiced, or a biggot, or whatever you want, I can't take these shows seriously when they put in someone onto the investigating team just to be politically correct. I remember when Threat Matrix was on ABC and they had a deaf woman on the team, and I just lost all connection to the group. I expect it will be the same thing with Threshold. Not saying a deaf person or a dwarf can't do a job, but when I see it on TV, I just think the producers are trying to be politically correct in how they hand out the roles.

The day I say I "adore" any movie or TV show is the day I hit myself with a hammer for being such a wuss!

Well its an ‘each episode is a period of time’ theme so its a rip off of the premise of 24. Which dates back to an episode of M*A*S*H I think and has been done on Stargate Atlantis a bit more correctly than 24 (real TV shows aren’t a hour they are about 40 mins hence the episode ‘38 minutes’)..
