Firefly fans were sweating Vera’s bullets on Monday, waiting for the word to come down from The Powers That Be at FBC on the fate of their beloved space western. The fans have been rallying for weeks; writing postcards to the suits at Fox, pledging to sponsors like Coca Cola that they will christen their first born children in tubs of Vanilla Coke, and one guy even purchased an ad in American Mensa, trying to drum up support from geniuses to watch Firefly.

So, when word came down that Fox ordered two more episodes to be produced, I have to admit that I got all fangurl giddy and bouncy. Yeah, I scared myself, too. But since I’m notoriously suspicious, I had to get the straight dope from the source of sources, Chris Buchanan, President of Mutant Enemy. The following is a Q&A with the guy who keeps Joss from becoming an Edward Gorey-like recluse with an old toilet bowl covered by a couple of 2x4s for a desk in a ramshackle bungalow on Cape Cod.

"Older men declare war, but it is the youth who must fight and die. And it is the youth who must inherit the tribulation, the sorrow, and the triumphs that are the aftermath of war"
- Herbert Clark Hoover

"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Good article!

A: As an aside, those Blue Hand Group Head Explosion Sticks seem like they would make a great Xmas gift.

CB: I may be personally delivering a few of them to "friends" for the holidays. ; )

Hehehehehe...

Personally, I'd go for a Mal action figure, but it's all personal preference.

Lots of good info in the article, but one thing missing - hope for the future!

The picking up of two episodes doesn't mean very much according to the article -just more of the same - run the nubers, wait and see... I guess I knew that already but was hoping to read something different.
