Well, as it stands this minute, everything except las vegas has sold out.

Man... I'd buy a ticket on ebay... or sell my soul... :)

Same thing happened to me. Kept reloading the Boston page, but I am at work so I had to tone it down a bit to about once every half hour. Eventually I got tired of checking so I called the theater itself, only to be told that the site had come up for a brief period and the tickets sold out within about a ten minute timespan.

Lo and behold, I went straight to the Fandango site and it was now working, but with the two gorram words I didn't want to see: "Sold out."

It's funny though, the guy I talked to at the theater seemed really confused. He was like "It's Serenity, right? Nobody is supposed to know what the movie is before they show it." I wonder if there's some kind of rule that these advance screenings are supposed to be kept secret.

I believe that when these things go to advance screening they are held to specific confidentiality agreements. The problem is going to be that Firefly falls into a category of "rabid fanfare" and it will not work.

Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful race, and we must live in harmony.

I got my 4 tickets to Vegas this morning. I'm so glad I didn't wait for lunchtime to buy them.

I've never been to vegas, and it is only a 9 and a half hour drive away...

I'm sure this movie will not be weak tea.

If anyone in the ATL has an extra ticket or can't go due to whatever insane reason. I would be happy to re-imberse you for your tickets. Plus whatever is needed for shiping and handling. Email at nrw1100@alltel.net.

I hope this is ok to put in this thread.

Hope you managed to get a ticket.

Look up the Youth Hostel in Chicago if need cheap place to stay.

Search Hostels on line to find out specifics.

I'm way over in Fargo, ND - Moorhead, MN the closest big city would have been Minneapolis. But the tickets sold way before I found out I didn't have to try and talk myself out of buying air fare somewhere. Especially since I just purchased ticket to Atalanta to go to DragonCon in Sept.

I just stumbled onto the tickets last night. I didn't have to work today so I was up late drinking. I got home around 2:10 went to the offical site( www.serenitymovie.com) looking to check out the trailer again...maybe get some wallpaper(disapointed as there is none featuring Morena, Jewel, or Gina...or anybody for that matter), and the pointer highlited the "cant stop the signal" area so I clicked on it. The link took me to the site www.cantstopthesignal.com. After a few seconds I realized immediately what it was, jumped up to grab my credit card and promptly bought a pair of tickets.

Afterwards I IM'ed my friend (the man who originally turned me onto Firefly) and told him I had got him a ticket. I think he actually soiled himself. I feel like one lucky S.O.B.

Anyway this has definitely nade my month!!!

p.s. did anyone else notice that in the cast photo on the official site that Book is nowhere to be found. The trailer even states that there are "SIX" rebels

I know. It's a good thing I've had trouble sleeping lately. I was up at 2am and came across the posting on Buffyworld.com. I think first I emailed a couple friends, asking if they wanted to go. Then it started to sink in how fast these tickets must be going. Ten minutes later my friend got another email saying, uh I panicked and went ahead and bought the tickets...sure hope you can come!

Hey Joss, come to Austin! It's beautiful here and the people are great and you can check out the live music scene.

I am trying really hard to hold my rage right now. Went to buffyworld yesterday I believe, and saw something about the serenity trailer coming out. I checked apple trailers, saw nothing. Today, my roomate happened to be looking at trailers, and wa like "man, I really hate it when they put trailers out for movies that aren't coming out for like 4 months". I glance over at his laptop and see serenity, and I'm like oh crap, click on it! He has no idea what it is, and I'm sitting there flipping out at the trailer.

So anyway, I manage to make my way over to fireflyfans.net, and see the news article about the screening on May 5th. I see that they are showing it in Atlanta, where I am at the moment, at the very theater I go to all the friggin time! But of course they are sold out... story of my life!!!!

No Australia? :crap

Truth be told, I didn't really expect anything to hit Australian cinemas until September.

Firefly only just finished airing for the first time on the world's worst timeslot (THANK YOU SO MUCH, CHANNEL BLOODY SEVEN). The DVDs have been out here for a while, but I don't think they're selling all that well.

And for all my influence on the Canberra community, I'm afraid I cannot convert 20 000 000 people who have never even heard of Firefly.

As long as the movie gets a fair shake here in September, I spose I'll be happy...even if it does mean waiting another five months.

HOW GOOD IS THE TRAILER?

For us Australian fans, if you check the Greater Union site you'll see Serenity is being released on the 17th of November. So thats even longer to wait!!

I work in a video store, so last year was able to order in the Box set for myself, and we have also has two more orders. Doesn't sound like much, but considering the fact it wasn't advertised or anything thats pretty good.

And I agree... to air Firefly at, like, 12.30am was just silly... but thats channel seven for ya! Though I'm glad I actually watched it on dvd before tv... the ads bugged me.

So, to relate this post back to the thread - No pre -showings for us poor Australians .. poo.

I couldn't find any on ebay. Heck, I have a ticket in my pocket and I still want more. I want my friends to share in the goodness. It'll be weird to go see it and then have to not tell them anything until September.

Though I am slighty (very slightly) sad that I won't get to read the comics first. That's the only downside I see to this. But, I'm still running on the high of knowing it's only a week away.

Add Vegas to the list of ebay tickets. There's an auction for 2 "tix" to that screening now.

I'm guessing that Universal is not happy about the auctions. That or they are curious to see just how much the tickets will really go for.
