Comic book artist extraordinaire and 2004 Eisner Award Nominee for Best Cover Artiste, Joshua Middleton (NYX, X-Men Unlimited, New Mutant, Sky Between) is currently working on Joss Whedon's 'Serenity.'

Work exchange program perhaps?

Does this mean he's doing a comic adaption of joss whedons serenity? or does it mean he is workin on the actual movie, storyboarding it or somthin. I don't understand.

Graphic novels would be good things, he could be working on some of the promotional stuff too, not sure that they'd bring in a professional comics guy just to do storyboards, but anything's possible I guess.

Hmm, if it isn't storyboarding or a comic book adaption, could it be conceptual artwork that he's working on?

With all the great CGI effects availible out there, I bet Serenity will be great!

Don't know, but when I first heard this story, my thought was, "Oh, he's going to be storyboarding the movie? Guess that means we can look forward to some panty shots of Kaylee, River, and Inara.." Not that'd necessarily be a bad thing. ;)

Though he is a very nice artist, was sorry to see him leave NYX (and how the series as a whole is ending)

NYX is my newest comic addiction. I was crushed when I found out he was leaving NYX. It just won't be the same without him. I hope that the new artist keeps the same feel to the art work.

Quesada said at WizardWorld Chicago that he just finished writing #5-7(could have been 5-6, but I think it is through 7).

I got Middleton to sign my NYY #3 and #1. He was really nice(and hot too :) ) and I'm excited to have my comics signed. :D

thanks to myorangehat, i'm hooked on nyx too now :)

i wonder what the heck he's going to be doing? i had heard a rumor somewhere that there may be an animated short that bridges the gap between where firefly left off and serenity begins, kind of a filler... i wonder if he would be working on that at all? is that something a comic book artist might do?

...and yeah... josh middleton is of teh hot! and so is john cassaday!

yeah. Well, NYX#7 is due to be the last one, according to the solicits, and I believe we've seen the last of the Middleton issues already. Pity.

Anyway, I may go to the Toronto comicon and see if I can get some NYX issues signed by Quesada, who's going to be there.

maybe there is some thing in his contract, but josh exculsively signed with dc maybe 2 months ago.he is a truly amazing artist,but i want this book to go to dark horse(joss mentioned he was in talks with dh)not dc or marvel.i know that dh is a big company too, but i just feel if dc or marvel got it they might cancel it after,i dunno,14 issues?dc/marvel=fox,nbc,cbs,abc
darkhorse,image,idw=wb,upn.i want a long run.

maybe he agreed to do covers or a prequel/movie adaptation one-shot before he signed with dc
