i would of liked to see it go in the theater, but obviously the studio doesn't have a whole lot of faith in it. But i will def buy it when it drops on dvd.

Dammit.

Though it probably wouldn't have played in my town anyway. Stupid theatre.

Not surprised in the least. Did any of you even see the first White Noise?

I'd advise you not to watch the second one, or you will be extremely disappointed with Fillion.

I skipped the first one simply because they stole the name of an excellent social satire novel and made a horror movie. I was gonna see this one though, just b/c capt tight pants and starbuck were in it.

Keep in mind, the direct to DVD news has not been officially confirmed yet. I imagine if Drive hits big, they'll be more inclined to give it a theatrical release.

While the movie itself may or may not suck, there is plenty of evidence to suggest you won't be disappointed with Fillion.

As an example,
Quote:

Both Nathan Fillion (Abe) and Katee Sackhoff (Sherry) took a scene each to warm up to me, but once past that, they both gave emotionally charged, layered and extremely likeable performances. Fillion in particular, had the whole film to carry and he did it admirably. Loved it when he brooded! He hit me right here…yeah…RIGHT HERE!
...
...Don’t let the abysmal original scare you off it; give it a whirl!

as much as i did not like the first one, I am not going to judge this one on the previous film. Its a different story, with different characters. They might of made a decent movie.

I did see the first one. Thought it was a wretched piece of poo, actually.
However, I would probably pay money to watch Nathan sit and read from a phone book, so if the movie is even slightly better than that, I figure I'll be a happy girl.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I would like to say I am surprised, but I am not. We have not heard a whole lot about the movie since it was done. Nothing on a release date, not buzz around the net, no marketing, nothing.

Guess the studio figured it best to save the marketing and PR money and just go straight to dvd to maximize profits.

Me too DerangedMilk... both are excellent actors and I really wanted to see what they could do with this movie. As NoSadSeven said there is still a possibility that they will release it to theaters because Drive may hit it big and Waitress did very well at Sundance. Let's wait and see if they don't change their minds.

The studio didn't do marketing Browncoat1, but some fans did and in the process became the official site stateside for White Noise: The Light. Their site is wonderful and information filled.. I'd recommend it as a way to hear more about release dates to either theater or DVD and a way to gauge how the movie is doing still in Britain and read reviews.

Yes, the site does say that.. because it's been rumored to be true that it won't come to theaters, but it's not for sure yet. Let's see what Drive and Waitress do.

I'd wager if Drive is successful, they'll put WN:TL in theaters quickly.

By the way for anyone who's interested the site has new pictures up from the movie in the Movie Images section. Nice ones too!

Fillion would be the only good thing in that movie anyway. I have never been disappointed with Nathan. I even watched Water's Edge, that was a bad movie but I liked Nathan in it.

(sorry just had to stand up for the captain)

Direct to DVD seems right.
