The Vistors are back! If they can be brought back, so can Firefly...

A while back there was a thread called, "What would you like to see?"

I quote myself: "I really liked the V series, when it was in its prime. If there was a chance to bring that back I'd be happy."

This is VERY COOL!

If the pattern holds, it might be another 20 years before we will see it again...

I dont know if that is a good thing or not. If any of you recall, the series really twisted the whole continuity of the story. Without explanation, the "lizards" lost their characteristic warble in their voices, and things seemed to drift away from their whole disguse-They were humanized so to speak. The while reptile thing seemed to be left behind.

Did anybody read the two books that were written? remember Elizabeth? She didnt have any special powers like she did in the "Final Battle" or the series. She was simply a genius (Understaement).

The coolest thing I remember (To me at least) was the "Freedom Network" hosted by Walter Cronkite of all people! If you are too young to remember him, "Google" it. He was one of the "great" television journalists, before news became a corporate interest and what was really going on in the country and world mattered more than ratings.

Anyway, I hope they use "Final Battle" as the jumping off point, and not the series. Oh yeah, and the HAVE to make sure Michael Ironside comes back as "Ham Tyler". Best character without a doubt..........

Based on the article on scifi.com http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2003-06/09/14.00.tv it sounds like its a continuation from the original mini-series. Thats probably a good thing since The Final Battle was not what Kenneth Johnson wanted and was forced to quit for. Now it seems like he may have an opportunity to finish what he started. Lets hope Joss gets that opportunity as well.

I loved the original V series! Of course I was just a bookish sci-fi preteen at the time. Has anyone here seen them recently? Are they like other things beloved from long, long ago, and much cheesier/sillier/whatever than we remember? I forget what it was, but recently I was watching some show I loved back when it was new and couldn't believe how cheesy it was. It was one of those early morning reruns kinda thing. Ah well. Couldn't get the article to load, but I guess this is going to be a remake, or continuation of the story? At least the special effects would be a lot more sophisticated, although in my memory they seem really cool.

I love BSG, but I am most definately not going to watch that travesty of a remake. The changes they've made are just too horrible... they've castrated one of my childhood heroes! Starbuck is supposed to be a womanizing cardplaying spaceship jockey hotshot... not a woman... bah.

I have been catching "V" lately on the Action Movie Channel, by todays standards, it is kind of past tech.

If they do bring it back they will be able to draw from all of todays special effects technologies, that is always a good thing.

I guess the same thing goes for any and all of the effects challenged series of the 80's, will be great even if they change around some of the characters to fit today's outlook and vision on how they think they should have been done, I know that's not what anyone wants to hear, but that may be the only way to get back some of our old favorites.

Sorry, hope I didn't piss anyone off... Have a Nice Day
