LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - "Alias" baddie Gina Torres has joined the cast of Joss Whedon's pilot "Firefly" along with Ron Glass ("The Education of Max Bickford") and Summer Glau, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The trio helps round out a cast that already includes Nathan Fillion ("Two Guys and a Girl"), Adam Baldwin ("The X-Files") and Jewel Staite. The sci-fi pilot, to which FOX gave a 13-episode commitment based on Whedon's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" track record, is set several hundred years in the future and follows the crew of a transport ship as they move from job to not-always-legal job.

Whedon has described the pilot as a Western set in space.

Torres plays Anna Espinosa, the nemesis of lead character Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) on ABC's "Alias." She also starred in the syndicated series "Cleopatra 2525." Glass is best known for his role as Detective Harris on the 1970s comedy "Barney Miller."

Whedon is writing and directing "Firefly's" two-hour pilot, which is scheduled to begin production in March.

Man, you guys had me worried for a second. I thought that this article was going to have a scoop that the actors who played the Trio in Buffy (Warren, Andrew, and Jonathan) had roles in the Firefly movie. :)

Ok, this is the oldest thread so far...

It's so old, you can reply, but the thread doesn't get updated on the home page.

Oh, an archaeology of threads! Do I take it from these meager scraps of evidence that this site was once dedicated (gasp!) to other shows? The very foundations of our history will tremble!

Oh, bugger! Now I have to wait for someone to wake up!

Yup. Back on Hakens-Website-That-Was, there were discussions on stuff like Andromeda IIRC. But Haken soon found his true calling.

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

And I thought that the Kingston Trio had come on board.

Yeah, and if wishes were horses we'd all be eatin' steak.

Damn, damn, damn. I thought this thread meant that "Firefly" would be added to cable channel Trio's "Brilliant but Cancelled" lineup (though I guess then the title would be "'Firefly' joins Trio", not "Trio joins 'Firefly'").

You know, our show would actually be an ideal addition to their lineup - do I smell letter-writing campaign?

http://www.triotv.com/bbc_2/

Last year I suggested that they should show both "Cupid" and "Strange Luck" as part of the lineup, and they never wrote back....

Some shows are just too good for tv, don't you think? "Cupid" had likeable characters, was witty, mysterious, clever, and fun as all hell.

Hmm, what does this remind me of?

Cupid was this whole new level of brilliance that is difficult for human minds to fathom. It's funny you guys should mention, because I just spent a couple of days watching my Cupid tapes again and getting depressed about the fact that that's all there is. :( I'm glad I can see Joe Flanigan on Stargate Atlantis now, though. :) What's Piven up to these days? I haven't seen him in the movies in awhile.

YT

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Did Haken carry over threads from an earlier website to Fireflyfans.net? We ain't gonna know fo' sho' 'less'n he reads this & tells us.

Anyway, there were 178 threads older than the one 'tash found. But some, perhaps all, of them may have been test threads that Haken used to make the BBBBDS in the 'verse.
