Here's something interesting from Heidi over at The Alligator Point Bar & Grill website.

http://home.earthlink.net/~hjjugovic

During filming of Alligator Point, a fan named Bob asked Nathan Fillion about the chances of him returning to Firefly. This is what happened:

Quote:

Bob: So here I am leaning over the rail, basically everybody seated except Nathan and I, so I went in for what I really wanted to know. I leaned over and this is what happened.

Bob: "So do we have a chance in hell to have this show back?"
Nathan: "What they're really concentrating on now is a movie."
Bob: "Would this be a made-for-tv movie?"
Nathan: "Nope, a big budget silver screen production!!"
Bob: "That would so cool, I would be the first in line."
Nathan: "Thanks for supporting Firefly."

A big screen Firefly would definately be cool.

I hope it's rated R. My guess is that it will be PG-13. Any thoughts?

Crossing my fingers,
Buffy started with a film...
Firefly ends with one?

(An admittedly mangled haiku -- you have to take some liberties with 'Firefly' as two syllables. But, hey, I'm in the South.)

I've gotta say, a rumor like this? It's a long shot. If the word came from Nathan himself, I'd believe it. But it came from Nathan from a source from a source. I hope.... But I'll believe it when I hear it from a more confirmed source.

Of course, I'd be content with a made-for-TV movie, so long as it tied up a few loose endings...

I'd be satisfied with Firefly sock puppet theater. It's a nice thought though, seeing Firefly on the big screen, but I won't get my hopes up til I read it directly from Joss or Nathan.

Simon: That's not much

Mal: It's enough

If it's true; shiny, if it's not, someone's gonna get shot.

DOBSON: Okay. I can see you're not an idiot.

DOBSON: I'm supposed to be meeting my wife's sister. I've only got a few days to see her...

ZOE: I wish there was another way...

DOBSON: Oh, no, no. That woman is like a dragon. I mean, I believe she has a tail. If there's any other moons we need to visit, or if we could just
fly very slowly...

Hello Everybody,
This is Bob here, and I swear this is what Nathan said to me. I would hate to think he just said this to me to pacify me with I wanted to hear. I know he is a great actor, but he looked me straight in the eye's when he said it. If anybody has any questions for me..please just ask.

I can say this, if there's gonna be a movie, there's gonna be a shindig somewhere, and we're gonna sell out the whole gorram theatre for it.

Lost Angel has spoken!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I would so be there if the put Firefly on the big screen. Honestly, I would go several times and get as many of my friends and family as I could to go see it too. If asking didn't work, I am not above begging or blackmail.

You know, this news is really funny, because yesterday night, when I was waiting to fall asleep, I rehearsed Angel in my head. Then from Angel, my thoughts wandered to Gina, then to Firefly. And then it hit me! To whom Gina is married to??? Laurence Fishburne! Matrix! Wachowski Brothers! Just imagine them working with Joss - or at least help Joss getting the right contacts for a movie. I mean, heh, the connections are all there!

And today I am reading the news post and what do my eyes see - a movie it might be!

Maybe I should play lotto this week :-)

that would be super! but i wish that it will be some kind of way for de production to find some more sponsers for a nice few years tv-series.

d'ont let the show die on a simple movie.

i can't stop looking at my old episodes i tapes and ready to bye de serie as i bought the classic one(star tr..,babylo..., etc)i am a addict of firefly and i don't know what is comming out of all that discusion in the producers office..don't the sponcers found that show interresting?

If this happens, I'll be one happy happy camper!

Each time I watch old episodes and read the scripts of the unaired episodes, I feel a deep pang of longing for one of the best shows to ever hit the airwaves!

These scripts have been my lifeline (thanks Haken!) for new Firefly.

If there is a movie, I'll be there opening day and probably try to get to the theater many many times to see it before it's gone! Maybe I'll make it a Friday night thing!

On a side note: Mal, larger than life? Someone might need to make sure there's paramedics on hand at the theater in case of heart failure!

hopefully it will be rated r and they can get rid of the chinese curses and replace them with english ones. That was always the one thing that bothered me when watching.

I liked the Chinese cursing though, you could always tell by the tone in their voices what they meant.

What I'm curious about is that if they already tore down the sets, would they need to completely redo everything? Or are all the parts still around, but just taken apart?

The sets are dismantled, not broken down. So they could just reassemble them.

The chinese cursing does so much more than simply circumvent the censors. It hints at a huge asian influence in mankinds history in the universe of the show. It's details like this that give the show it's depth. A truly inspired choice I say.
