Firefly now out in Germany on DVD

Just spotted this over on Whedonesque, thought I'd give any German browncoats a heads up. Firefly is now out on a dubbed DVD in germany (English version is also on DVD). Here's what a poster on Whedonesque had to say about the dubbing:

I actually did see it as "Firefly" (do I get a prize?), but then got confused by the second poster and thought I misread it the title of the thread.

In any event, yay for Germany. I'd still recommend watching it in English, though, because I know what German translations are usually like, even the "good" ones. My all-time favourite translation: "Murder, She Wrote" became "Mord Ist Ihr Hobby", translated back to mean "Murder Is Her Hobby". Angela Lansbury turns from crime novelist/reporter to serial killer in one subtle (German) turn of phrase.

QUIETUDE

I tried several times in Germany to find the Firefly DVD set to buy for a German friend of mine. I thought it was criminal that it wasn't out over there, especially with the movie coming out so soon. Now just when I thought I couldn't buy a German version, they put one out.

I was at the Serenity Squared con in Heathrow, England. My god it was good. A special thank you to Sean Maher, who had to sign like 3000 things (possibly more) as it was his first time at the Starfury Convention so there was a huge backlog of people wanting things signed.

The guest list was:

Jewel Staite
Morena Baccarin
Sean Maher
Christina Hendricks
Johnathan M Woodward
Neil Roberts

They were all great, and Christina Hendricks for her first time at a Con was superb.
