RICHARD

Hi,
I just saw Firefly for the first time this week on DVD. It was passed to me by a friend. After watching only the first DVD the set, I went out and bought my own box set. I fell in love that fast. I'm a fan forever.
After watching the last episode's and the special features I'm left feeling empty. I WANT MORE. Is that clear enough? I want more of these characters. I need to know what happens to them. There are just so many unanswered questions and adventures for this "family" to have.
I feel this show had all the warmth, humor, adventure, and fun to make it last forever. Similar to Star Wars or Star Trek. This show should have run for another full 5 seasons minimum.
I'm spreading the word to everyone I can about this show. We have to keep Firefly alive. This show is winning new fans even after its been off the air. Lets hope someone is listening out there.
PS. I hope this message finds its way to Joss Whedon some how, in the hope that he never gives up on Firefly. I can't say how much I've loved each and every episode, or how sad it was to see that final episode knowing there may not be anymore coming. Thanks Joss.
FIREFLY Forever.

Howdy! Glad you liked Firefly. I must also add that last week I got a fellow co-worker hooked. She compared me to some guy who got her addicted to cocaine or heroine She went out and bought her own set at Borders.

Who's next.........

Hey Richard,

I hear you, man. I just finished watching my set as well. I only caught a few episodes when it first aired (college schedule and all keeping me pretty busy at odd hours), but I must say that this has fast become my favorite television show.

Mr. Whedon has a gift for creating likeable quirky ensembles, cracking dialogue and awesome inside jokes. I must say that I too am feeling a bit empty after finishing all the extras. There was so much potential, so much building going on with a wonderful cast and crew. All I can say to my fellow fans is that...our dollars and voices count...so we should support it as much as possible to see the next incarnation. :D

Best,
Scott

Indeed! There's some familiar elements that make it accessible enough to non-sci-fi fans and plenty of original and great ensemble work.

I just got a coworker into "Firefly". He said he almost got turned off by the combat in the very beginning of "Serenity", but because I highly recommended it, he stuck it out. Now, he's on Disc #2, and he wants to borrow Disc #3 when I go back to work on Monday I think we have another browncoat, folks...

I really have to get a second DVD set for myself

They can have my "Firefly" DVDs when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers....

Hi,

I am a new fan also. Hi everyone, i'm glad I found this community. :)

I have Angel/Buffy video sessions with some friends quite often, and last time one of them said to me - 'you should watch Firefly'. I had heard of it but never found out much about it. That eventually prompted me to get hold of the series. So not knowing a thing about it, I started watching. I was curious to delve further into this series after just the first episode, and then promptly sat down and watched several episodes. I was intriuged by this diverse group of characters, and this world that they all live in - this is a really special series. (although i'm sure you all know that already!) ;-)

I have 2 episodes left to watch - certainly wish there were more, but the news about the movie is very good. :)

MAYDAY

Hi everyone,

I first heard about Firefly when it was advertised on the SciFi channel (UK), watched "Serenity" and "The Train Job" and was hooked, about seven episodes in I loved the show so much I looked it up on the NET only to find that it had been cancelled.

Ok, so I didn't really get all that blubbery, not 'til after "Objects In Space" when I knew that it really was the end (At that time there was only speculation about a movie). I felt exactly like you guys (And Gals!) have described, hollow, wanting more, addicted.

I'm now the proud owner of a brand new (region two) DVD box set. Just finished watching it again, and all the special features. I'm sad to say that I got a little emotional at the end, watching "Here's How It Was - The Making Of" documentary (Especially the part when they start talking about the musical score for "War Stories") and the Tour of Serenity, seems real sad to think that Joss must have film that before he knew the show was in trouble, poor bloke.

Aww well, guess we'll just have to wait til Serenity comes out next year to see some more.

(You should have seen the grin on my face when I heard that the other week, does the phrase "Cheshire Cat" ring any bells?!?)

Allan,

By the way, I've heard mention of "ff_fridays", I'm guessing thats in reference to the show being aired on a Friday? Can we have "ff_mondays" 'cos its when the show aired in the UK? Just askin'

Another new fan here!

I got my R2UK DVD box set April 26 and I've watched the show two times since then *and* listened to all the commentaries, watched the extras et cetera.

I just posted this on another MB: I suddenly understand how Jehovah's Witnesses feel! I feel like ringing door bells and instead of offering a copy of the Watch Tower I will smile and hold up a Firefly DVD box set and say: "Have you seen this TV show?"

Well, that won't happen, but I will try to convert one of my best friends whom I have spent many a "Buffynight" with watching the Buffy/Angel eps that haven't been aired here yet. It will be difficult to part from my box set for a couple of weeks though, but I guess it must be done.

Hi, I just saw Firefly for the first time about 4 days ago when I got it on DVD. By the next evening I had watched every episode!
I was hooked less than halfway through Serenity.
Anyway, now I have decided to introduce it to everyone I know, although less than a third of these people seem like they would like it.

But hey, I don't particularly like Sci Fi, or Westerns.

I am a fan for life! Can't wait for the movie.

Nahh I think it's cool. It let's old fans reminise (sp?) how we got into it.

For me? It was 2 yrs ago. I saw/heard the ads for Joss's new show Firefly. Watched it for the sake of anything Joss (and for a man named Jayne ^-^ ). I seriously thought the show was boring at first during watching "Train Job" but kept watching because I have faith in Joss (And knew there would be more to what I was seeing)

That was the only FULL episode I watched. "Out of Gas" is a close second, but I couldn't watch it all due to a bad attenae reception. :P
Waiting patiently, the DVDs came out (like I suspected they would) and bought it without the guarantee of knowing I'd like it besides Out Of Gas which I really did like.
I was wowed and by the time I got to the next disc or so, I got all Firefly rabid like I am today.

The End

Yep i actually bought the dvd last week. I had heard of it on a webcomic website (pvponline.com) but because im in Australia i dont think ANYBODY here has practically heard of it at all. I only found a lonely copy in a memorablia/dvd/toy store tucked away in a little corner.I guess it only came here within a couple of months back. Its in NONE of the major dvd seller chains or anything! THAT IS SOOO CRAZY!

I was officially hooked after watching Serenity and Train Job, just two episodes and I was mad for it!

I'm trying to spread the word as best I can over here. I think its important for shows to do well internationally as well, they often find a target audience outside the US as well

LONG LIVE FIREFLY

Simon: It's a wonder you're still alive.
Jayne: He looked bigger when I couldn't see him

Well, I just converted my brother yesterday with 'Serenity' and 'The Train Job', back to back. Now I am looking to convert whoever I can. So that's two new 'Firefly' fans in my family, including me.

Welcome all! You can help alleviate some of the pain of Fox's betrayal by working to recruit more browncoats and make the Big Damn Movie a Big Damn Success! That's the only way we'll get more Firefly in the future!

Please help Haken keep this site running by occasionally clicking on some of the sponsored ad links on the side of the page!
