I'm surprised that no one has commented on the fact that the plot catalyst,
(an eyeball camera)
for the latest episode of AoS
is the same as A Shepherd's Tale.
Also, I sometimes hear Browncoats complain that the eyeball camera
was too science-fiction-y for Firefly (500 years in the future)
but here Joss has pulled it out for a here-and-now story.
Although, it was mentioned that the eye camera was more advanced than regular tech.

AoS is OK; I'm watching and enjoying.
But it hasn't drawn me in like only two fiction worlds ever have:
H. Beam Piper's Terro-Human-Future-History,
an Firefly.

I liked the eye in Shepherd's Tale. I think Book's memories may continue to play a big part in Firefly and it'll come back to haunt the crew more than a few times.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'll have to re-read Shepherd's Tale because I had forgotten about that.

Dunno about that, but at least twice in AoS, they've used the same sort of concussion device which Simon used to free River from the Academy.

Joss must be quite pleased w/ that invention.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

"We live on a spaceship dear..."

As for AoS, I just can't anymore. It don't make me happy. Where's the FUN on this bun?? Might watch a good episode if it's recommended, but otherwise no. Sorry Joss-Collective...

I HAVE gotten hooked on Starcrossed, and yeah I know it's a CW show(groan) with twenty somethings, but me and the kiddo loooove it already.

Starcrossed and 100 seemed to have potential, but the story and pacing turn out to be just more high school, different settings. I've been disappointed after seeing the promising premise.

I thought Simon's was concussive, but it seemed AoS this time was lethal (tree-topper). I forget the name of the mine these were based on from Veitnam - might have been Bouncing Betties - intended to jump up 4 feet before detonation, and always lethal to anything over a few feet.

Wasn't sure as to which was lethal or concussive, but both from AoS and in Serenity, it's the same sort of device, where the user ducks down, and a blueish shock wave emanates from the device, and incapacitates everyone in the area that it contacts.

Ok. I was bored and had watched everything else so I watched the one AoS titled "Turn, Turn, Turn"

Yeah, pretty sure Joss directed that one.

"This is a suicide mission"
"Not if I don't die!"

"I thought that should've been bigger..."
BOOM

Joss writes like a space pirate. It's what makes Firefly so good.
If the rest of the season had been that good, I could have liked it...

Joss is pretty busy with Avengers2, plus he has consulted on Thor2 and CapAmerica2, including writing and directing some of the in-credits sequences. I am sure he reviews the scripts on SHIELD, but so far he has received writer's credit on just the pilot episode, which is also the only one he has directed. His brother Jed and Maurissa Tancharoen wrote the latest ep and it was directed by Vincent Misiano. Quite a few on the production and writing team have worked with Joss before, so they know his style, so a lot of things will sound like Joss was directly involved with more than likely he was not.

Also, since you had previously said you couldn't watch SHIELD anymore, but that you loved Starcrossed, I don't think your opinion interests me much.

Ohhhh, it is on like Donkey Kong!!!

Yer just intimidated by younger better lookin' men, is what it is

I also happen to know the second you STOP watching a show, it gets good. SO I gave it another chance. I'm human. And a BORED human I might add. I still think Joss was waaay more involved with that epp. and there ain't a damn thing anyone's gonna say to change my mind.

Plus, Starcrossed is something I can watch with my kid, and there ain't a whole lotta that out there, so I refuse to take any shit from anyone for THAT At least I have an open mind...
