Kudos to Jose Molina for writing a brilliant episode of television. "Ariel" is perhaps the best episode of Firefly by a writer who is not also an Executive Producer.

Great Job Jose! I was skeptical, but you've found a fan in me!

I agree, "Ariel" was a perfect 10.0. Actually, the best hour of television I've seen all season. It shows the true potential of FIREFLY.

Dark Angel had good writers. After all, the dialogue of the show was snappier then your average show (better even then Buffy if you ask me). They, or the producers/directors of the show, just didn't have the balls to make Max or any of the other characters do bad things like a real person would. Yeah some of them did semi-bad things, but usually pretty innocuous stuff. That, to me, was the downfall of it all :(. What's a show without character conflict or growth? Not much of one :(.

I started watching Dark Angel because it had John Savage in it. I stopped watching it regularly when I'd had enough of the color black (that is also why I rarely watch Angel). My not watching had nothing to do with the quality of the show.

A friend who also enjoyed the program called it cheap, as in, not enough money spent. Criticisms I read elsewhere said that the writing was uneven, letting Max be her kick-ass self one week, and a fluff-brain the next.

Jose molina has talent, just Dark Angel was the only place he could get a first job. SO he took it.

If you know anyone that can help my screenwriting career, please help! And yes, I am self-advertising here. Hehehe, me such a little devil.

As a BIG Dark Angel Fan I'll clarify a few things:

Writing in DA was generally good but this sometimes didn't come through because of poor acting (specifically on the part of Jessica Alba).

In general I felt there were two standards, those episodes written by the usual bunch which included Moira Dekker, Rene Echavaria and JOSE MOLINA. These eps were the good ones, the ones with substance, the ones that carried the story arcs.

The other eps were the ones the fished out to other writers. I think this is where the uneveness in Max's Character comes through.

Molina also wrote, IMO, the best Max by a long shot for those of you DA fans he wrote:
Cold Comfort
Red
Rising
Haven
Hello Goodbye
and others

Did any other DA fans pick up the "He looks better in red" line from River.
The "Red Series" was a small story arc about uber-soldiers who had a tendency to bleed from every orifice and of course when Max is Redified she says: "How do I look in Red"

I think I may just be reading to much into it?

Any way I shall finish by saying that Jose Molina should not be judged because of his previous involvement with DA, infact I think it serves as a very good resume.

That line meant blood. Dark Angel DID NOT have good writing, hence James Cameron. I watched it, the show is crap. I know, I saw.

If you know anyone that can help my screenwriting career, please help! And yes, I am self-advertising here. Hehehe, me such a little devil.

Have you ever even WATCHED Buffy?

Now, I am not making the assumption that all the DA writers were hacks. We seen proof that wasn't the case. But from what little I saw of the show, there wasn't anything there to keep me even mildly entertained. DA's writing on the whole wasn't even in the same league as Buffy or Angel.
