I just watched the new BG and, it actually wasn' t bad.

I know why. It's a lot less, original battlestar galactica and a lot more like firefly sans witty dialogue and interesting characters.

Adding to that, they got ZOIC (who did firefly) to do the special effects and CGI to create the same zoom effects and smoke effects. even during the live-action stuff, I notice alot of stuff was handheld with whip pans and zooms. What firefly used to give it that "cheesy" factor.

It's cool to see another sci-fi show be cool, but it pisses me off that they took a cue from firefly and ran like a michael bolton or puff daddy. I would really hate it if, BG became a long running series while firefly ends with just a movie.

"'nuff said."

"who's nuff?"

Did you catch sight of Serenity flying over Caprica early in part 1?

Actually, I find it inetresting that the "Odyssey 5" pilot was doing hand-held "documentary style" sci-fi a year before "Firefly." It's really interesting to read some of Manny Coto's interviews about that. Maybe it's an overall paradigm shift for SF in the 3rd millenium? And Joss and Manny and Ron Moore are all the founders of a new style of SF tv?

-- Some take the high road. Some take the low road. And some just go screaming down the highway, dropping flaming bits of wreckage.

I think it was the same cgi company who did firefly, they probably put that zoom in stuff like Odessy 5 and Firefly to achieve the same effect of a documentary stile Sci Fi show were you are in the middle of everything going on.

Everytime I watch a sci-fi show or movie, and there's sound in outer space, I lose all respect for the program. I can't help it; after watching 'Firefly', you get used to space being quiet and empty - you know, like it really is. So hearing lasers when ships shoot at eachother - it just seems so cheesy.

I have to thank Battlestar-G for getting me into Firefly.

I was a big BG fan as a kid and when I found out about the miniseries I had to see it. On the back of that I decided to visit a few messageboards to see about it's future.

Lots of posts were referring to how fantastic firefly and the CGI was so I had to see what the fuss was all about. I'm so glad I did.

This is just the beginning
