www.session416.com runs the streaming video, but it also has a "Download" button at the bottom right corner. It downloads as a .mov file.

FWIW, although I enjoy the little narrative "cortex override" schtick I have in the streaming bit on the main Session 416 site, if anyone wants the direct download link to the .mov instead of having to go to the site first, it's this:

The River Tam Sessions are 19 MB, which will take you DAYS to download. Up until a month or two ago I had a similar slow setup to yours, but finally DSL arrived in my neighborhood. Now I can turn on the pictures and surf, unlike before.

I just tried to find the link for the whole download, to no avail. Hopefully someone has 'em.

Good luck.

The River Tam sessions were great. When and why were those made? Anyone know?

I like throughout it she mentions Simon, and being concerned, wanting to see him. Show's what I close connection they really did have.

The sessions were released to the internet about 2 months before Serenity in order to promote the movie. I heard they took a cue from the "mockumentry" of the Blair Witch Project and all the hype and buzz that was released prior to the film. The result was that the Teens/college age demographic believed it was all real since it had been "leaked to the web" prior to the film release. It therefore ended up as a hit and passed cult status as more curious mainstream viewers went to see it.

The point of the river Tam sessions wasn't quite the same as Blair Witch. Certainly there was no campaign to say "Hey, this is real, it really happened!!" But it did help to create a slight Buzz for the movie. The mode of the films imply that they are secret tapes from the academy and that they got "leaked" to the internet. The whole idea was cute. And it worked to some degree to promote the film.

What I enjoy about the sessions is how River slowly devolves as they are stripping her amigdila and doing other things to her brain. She starts out perfectly sane in session 1 and we see the slow progression to madness by session 416. By the way, the doctor is Joss. Most ppl know that but some don't.

Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful race, and we must live in harmony.
