Cant stop the signal.

Hey Guys!

Im new on this side (and pretty new to Firefly too). When I just finished watching Serenity, I was so sad and dissapointed that this should be it and so I started watching bonus suff in the internet for days. After a while I was stunned how many passioned fans there still are and how many great things they are doing. And I felt happy not to be the only one, who could not get away from Firefly ;) So thank you all for keeping up the signal for all that time!

Anyway, I got a verry stupid question: How do I get on the Browncoat-Map? Couldnt figure it out. Im from Germany and there seem to be not many browncoats around here, so I thought, would be good to show some presents.

Welcome! Sometimes the best way to find browncoats is to create them, see if your friends and family will like the series and maybe you can start your own Browncoat chapter. Other than that you could always look online for groups in your area. I'm a member of the PDX Browncoats in my city and its lots of fun, we do fun stuff together and also do fundraising projects for charities. Check and see if there's a Can't Stop the Serenity event in your area, that's a great way to hook up with other browncoats nearby.

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.

Usually a parade of folks will appear with various yummy gifts, including your ceremonial Brown Coat. I'd get it for ya, but I don't have a key to the locker. If it doesn't happen soon, we'll wake Jayne and blow it open. Meantime, the buffet table is over there-- question it at your will. My wife made the soup.

As to the map, that is not a very stupid question. Stupid part may be that none of us knows the answer. But I'm sure that our kindly and generous webmaster, Haken, does know.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! - Although I did not manage to find that buffet... ;) Unfortunately ther is no Can't Stop the Serenity event in Germany, I already checked that, but I will try to find some other Browncoats around here. Thank you for the link FIREFLYPASSENGER, but many forwarding links from that site don not semm to work for me. Great site anyway.

Allright, so no map-entry for me until somebody might find out how this works ;)

You need to see the series to get all the information with which we play from day to day. Perhaps your local library has a set of discs, or you have family/friends who can lend them to you. They also turn up cheap at places like amazon.com. You really need the warm, cozy feeling that comes from watching the original show.

In the interim I'm offering you our traditional jug of Mudder's Milk ("Jaynestown") and a small basket of strawberries ("Serenity" - - series pilot episode) as your signing-on gift. We invite you to stow your luggage down here in the cargo bay, then come up to the galley where there is a beautiful buffet laid out for questioning ("Shindig"). If you like chilly things, there is a fresh supply of ice-planets ("The Message") in the cooler, bottom shelf. Shimmerwine ("Shindig" again) is in a fountain at the far end of the buffet table, but be careful not to put your feet too far under the edge at that end - - something may be living there ("Out of Gas"). Welcome from me too Hoshymann, Here's a freshy Virtual coat just your size > :biggrin: , and sorry 'bout the delay...Takes a while for the post to get to new places in the 'Verse, or at least that's the story I'm sticking with... (more like too much sun and fun in these parts :wink: )

Anyways, I think you get on the Browncoat map just by coming back and posting something every once in a while... I don't know if it automatically logs your location or if the great Haken Moderator-God does it, but I think he's had a lot going on recent-like... Please, feel free to post and don't be shy, we're pretty easygoing these days :cheers:

Hey BLAZINGUN! Not so bad ;) Have you been to Germany? I bett mai spallink in englisch is nod mach bedda... :P

FLORALBUNNY, of course I watched the series AND the movie. And I allready got my own set of DVDs: Special Edition UK Import via Amazon, 'cause I wanted the old cover ;) And by now I'm allready watching the episodes for the second time. It is just to short :( Oh, I've seen "Done the impossible" too, great fan-production, if you don't know it.

WISHIMAY, thanks for the coat, it actually fits. No worries, easygoing sounds good to me. I'll just wait for the great god of moderators to hear my prayers.
