Well, I tried, I really did, to ration the shows out, but by Sunday night I had watched all the episodes and the extras, (got the DVDs on Friday)and while I know I can watch them again, I still won’t know what the scoop is with River, if Simon will ever kiss Kaylee (and keep his mouth shut!) or find out what Book is all about.
So I’m hoping to find out a feature is under way, and the success of that will reinitiate the series.
Until then, my heart will be both glad as I watch the eps again and again, and it will break a little more each time…
As I continue to hope...

I finally got mine in the mail Friday night, and immediately had to go on a trip... so today is the first day I've had with them. I was watching "The Making of Serenity" and the interview with Greg Edmundson (sp?), the composer, made me cry (as will the music at the end of The Message every time I watch it from now on).

I really hope the movie is coming soon...

I'm really in bad shape - now YOU'RE making me teary eyed - and I'm at work.
(I'm not embarrased - I just wanna go home and watch more...)

I've got the boxed set in my hand. I want to open it and start watching SOOO badly, but I know I'm going to have to go through it again. I'm going to get mad. I'm going to get frustrated. I'm going to feel desperatate about this story and how it isn't going to get told.

So, I think I'm about to watch in one long heartnbreaking binge. And then it will be over again.

Come one Joss! Bring this story back to us!

HUMBLE

just received my firefly dvd set in the mail. watched the entirity straight through monday into tuesday. first time i've seen all the episodes! wanted to say i was totally floored/blown away by the way each episode drew me in and let me become part of what was going on with the show. by the time i finished the last ep i had to remind myself that this show was cancelled! i immediately realized that i was hooked on firefly. i've been into sci-fi series in preceding years, but i have NEVER been this caught up with a tv show like i am with firefly! such a rich contrast of characters, stories where honor still exists, people still have dignity for themselves and each other. also, i can't tell y'all how humbled and red-faced i got when the cast and crew actually recognized and showed appreciation for the loyal fans of the show. firefly should, no, MUST continue. joss has to find a way to bring this show back to the airwaves and let the stories of these nine individuals be told. i look forward to buying a dvd set of the future shows just so i can say to myself: "i knew this was going to happen all along!" can't believe that this show is such a big hit with people from north america, europe, australia, etc. and still no network picking it up.

I haven't even been able to bring myself to watch the episodes yet, just the commentary and the special features. All I have to say is:

Joss - push the red button!

I've been rationing the eps out, giving them to myself as rewards for getting my work done of an evening... and still, my heart breaks every time I see the end of an episode and realize that when I get to the end of the eps on those DVDs, there won't be any more for a while (including the movie, which screenplay our beloved Joss is still writing, per the latest interview).

And after every episode ends, everyone in my house sits around wondering "What in the HELL was Fox thinking? Oh, wait, they weren't..."

JUSTICEDEMON

Well, this is my first post. I watched one episode when Firefly was still on the air due to all of the huge scheduling/baseball disasters. I cannot believe I didn't find a way to see each and every episode when they originally aired. I got the DVD set for Christmas and I thought I would only watch one or two episodes. Well, I watched 10 that day (yesterday). I finished up the series today and I cannot believe what was done to this show.

It is an absolute TRAVESTY that Firefly was cancelled. For a show to get such fantastic character development, such intricate stories, and such amazing culture in such a short time is nothing short of phenomenal. I plan on purchasing DVD sets for my friends and family to get them hooked (or better yet, lend them my first disc and let them buy their own).

Serenity's story is far from over. After watching such brilliance, I must believe we will hear more from her spectacular crew. First the movie, then a new series (complete with action figures!). It may not happen soon, but if there is any justice in the world it has to happen eventually.

FRAZIER

I stumbled across the show last year, it drew me in, then my wife. We missed the last show aired because we were out of town visiting relatives and dealing with my late mother-in-law's affairs. This Christmas it was under the tree, for my wife and I to share together. Life can be short, it's what you do with it that counts. Good work Mr Wheton, bad decission FlOX.

Loaded and ready,
The Frazier

COOTER

Well, after running through every episode half a dozen times myself, I did what every other loyal Firefly devotee should do: Loan the entire DVD set out to a friend over the holidays!

My niece and nephew are finished with school until after New Year's day, so they've got plenty of TV-watching time ahead of them over the next week. Both of them had been meaning to watch the show while it was on FOX, but always managed to miss it — never saw a single episode.

Ten minutes into "Serenity", my nephew says, "Oh, the effects are SO COOL!". I think they're hooked...

I am a 34 year old Married man with kids soz you'd think I have a modicum of maturity.. When my DVD box set arrived in the mail I was running around the house hugging it to my chest giggling like a little school kid. My wife found it very amusing.

I am so embarrassed..

Suppose doing that at home is better than doing that in a public space, or school or something.

I couldn't bear the thought of letting my only copy out of my sight, so I bought another specifically for loaning out.

I loaned it to a coworker and he said that he would watch the show regularly if it were on - this from a man who doesn't even have cable because he can't stand commercial tv!

I myself am a convertee. I never watched Firefly while it was on-air because I just had horrible premonitions. I couldn't bear it after Andromeda, Enterprise, and all of the other sci-fi crap that was being put on the air at the time. I'm absolutely disappointed with myself for missing it. I overgeneralized.... But now I'm doing my best to spread the good word. I can't afford to buy the box set yet (I'm 17 and have no job...sad times.). I'm getting there though. And I also think I've converted my parents and a few of my friends. It's so much easier to spread the good word when the product actually is the greatest show...ever.

It was surprising enough to get a DVD player for Xmas. Then my sister puts the icing on the cake by giving me the Firefly DVD set.

We watched "Serenity" and "The Train Job" and our conclusion was that it's a damned shame how a show of this quality got axed.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but as far as quality TV is concerned, Joss Whedon delivered The Complete Package to the weasles at Fox. And it was definitely akin to casting pearls before swine.

Update: My sister reports that the niece and nephew are now hooked - not to mention my sister herself! Think I'll ask them to loan the DVD set out to a few of their friends. One convert at a time, indeed...

America loves a winner!

14 episodes sure do go by quickly... ( fine, no cmomercials, but still ). I still catch little commetns and references each time I watch the episdes that I had missed before.

There's hope w/ the production of the film..and the CD hopefully making its way out....I MUST have it....I MUST !

JADE

Well, when my set arrived from Amazon, I watched it everynight after work until I had seen them all.

Now I've watched all the episodes with optional commentary, all of them except "Objects In Space."

I can't bring myself to do it. Knowing it's the last episode I might ever see, and Joss Whedon is the only one on the commentary, I'm afraid whatever he might say might make me cry.

I know I'll watch it eventually, but it's nice having that one last thing...

P.S. Thank God for fanfic, although I'm fast running out of that too :-(
