Wearing my Castle t-shirt and carrying the book Heat Wave. Person noticed the name Richard Castle on the cover. And was like "It's a real book...I didn't think it was a real book".

Maybe people will start to realize after the paperback book comes out.

July 27th, isn't it? Is that when the paperback comes out?

They mentioned it on a recent episode - completely within the context of the story, of course - so I had to go look it up on Amazon, just to check, and sure enough, the day they said is the day it comes out for real in paperback.

I know it's just product placement and marketing, but I think it's clever and a bit hilarious that they're so damned good at it. They're making me want that book! (Which is, of course, the whole idea)

It's a pretty good book and I can't wait for the next one.

I have an idea who actually wrote it....and I may be wrong so I'm not saying.

I really enjoyed the book. I of course went out and bought it as soon as I could. And of course I will buy the next one too.

You're surprised that people didn't think a fictional character wrote a real book? That surprises me.

Who do you think wrote it? I have no clue myself.

I think it was Stephen J.Cannell. His son is one of the creators and producers of Castle. He also wrote and created the A Team and Magnum PI among other and he now writes mysteries.

And Nathan paid him a visit on the special features on the Season 1 DVD.

I do know that the WriterCastle Facebook and Tweets are done by the writers of the show.

When you say it like that, Author Richard Castle was lucky to be on the New York Times bestseller list for 15 weeks.

And wasn't Cannell one of Castle's poker buddies in the pilot episode?
