Sci-Fi is running a story where it says that Joss Whedon recently told reporters that a second season pickup is unlikely, but he is still hopeful.

Quote:

"[The chances are] not very good but in limbo," Whedon said in a group interview Tuesday night in Hollywood, where he was sitting on a panel at the Paley Festival presentation for his Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. "Obviously our numbers are pretty soft, and there it is, but we live in hope. I'm really proud of the episodes that are coming out. More than that, I can't really ask."

Understandable. The numbers were never great and they continue to dwindle. *sigh* I wish I had a nielson box. I think the first five episodes were a huge mistake. They were supposed to "show what the show would be like on a weekly basis". Yet that's not what I'm seeing on a weekly basis now that we're seeing the real show. Oh well I was 90% sure it was getting canceled when I heard the premise. It's turning out better than I expected, but I suppose I'll live if it gets canned.

I hate stupid Nielson boxes. Useless.

Anyway, Dollhouse to begin with was fairly interesting, but the last few episodes have been fantastic, and canning it now would be an extremely annoying move. Why couldn't they have just started from episode 6 territory. Damnit.

Oooh, I'm intrigued! Being in UK limbo, I've only managed to get my mits on eps 1-2. Sounds like I should be setting my computer to ferreting out more if it gets better (and I was pretty taken with 1 &2!)

Tell you what, I'm meeting Amy Acker a week on Friday, I'll ask her for the latest gossip!

Yeah, I must admit, I'm in Aust, so we haven't had any Dollhouse yet. But definitely try to get your hands on it. I was like you, did actually quite like episodes 1 - 5, very good television. But ep 6 onward is just a whole new ballpark I think. Mainly because you start to get an idea of where this could all go.

And you get to meet Amy Acker? Well who's too cool for school! :p
Hope you have fun, make sure she knows how much we all love her! :)
She's actually one of my favourite things about Dollhouse...for some reason I just find her character extremely intruiging, as we don't know all that much about her...
