Hi!

Yah, it can be confusing. There are a few things you can do:

Rate, React, Comment & Give Opinions.

Once you find the page you want (Firefly of course! Or Serenity. They're both in the top 25 on the rankings tab.)

Rate - you can rate the show, on a scale from -5 to +5 (intensly like). You can always change your rating later if you like, but you'll do this only once.

Add Opinion - this you can do multiple times. You can always add a new opinion, and this seems to effect the H!N score the most (I think). You'll rate your opinion, and give it a Headline then add any additional comments. Be sure to scroll down and hit the submit button.

React - You can rate other people's opinions. Same scale (minus 5 to plus 5) and agree or disagree it.

Comment - you can also add a comment to other people's opinions.

Also, don't forget to "Update Your Status" as to whether you watch the show regularly or not. Under the blue bars.

Suggestions - Keep adding opinions! Stargate Atlantis has been number one since I started going to the site and has 646 opinions vs. 243 for Firefly. The opinions have an effect on the H!N score. Also, don't feed the trolls. I don't think it helps to disagree with a negative comment. It's best just to ignore them.

So - Rate, give your opinion, comment & react to the other flans.

Yes, reacting to a comment definitely has an effect on the rating. I've become a tad addicted to playing around with it since I started checking in on our BDHs. I've seen one simple reaction cause a jump in score. Of course that's mostly for people with low scores. Also, if you visit the pages frequently (say every couple of days), you can sort the comments by most recent. That way you'll see the newest ones first and won't have to scroll through pages of comments to get to the new ones. Seems some people only react to the first page. Firefly, Serenity & Nathan are all up to multiple pages now. Also, once you've rated each one, you can manage them through your own profile. Just click on your profile name and it will show you which shows/movies/personalities you voted for. Then you can go through and click each one on your own list. Enjoy!

I think the Hey!Nielson rating does have an effect, but probably not as much as we would hope.

I am still amazed that a series canceled in 2002 still provokes this type of loyality from fans. I only discovered Firefly a year ago.

That is what should get some bean counter's attention - the fan base has grown dramatically.

Anyway, keep up the opinions, comments and ratings!

I update the standing on the Universal HD Firefly board every week. We've also added some new personalities - Badger (Mark Sheppard), Niksa (Michael Fairman), YoSaffBridge (Christina Hendricks) and Joss of course. I can't take credit for these, however. Visit the U HD Board if you can.

You have to register, first, but, you can vote on any individual poll once per day. Be sure to click on the Arts and Entertainment link on the left side, and, focus on Movies and TV; vote on any poll once. Be aware that most polls require you select a minimum of three candidates when you vote.

You can set any poll you like as a favorite; that way, you won't have to hunt it up on the lists every day. In fact, if you've already voted on a bunch of polls, you can hit a button under favorites that will list every poll you've voted on as a favorite. Saves a LOTTA diggin'! Also, be sure that, once you hit the "I want to vote" button, you scroll down to the bottom of the candidates; a lot of our BDHs (and others) are new, and, at the bottom of the polls. If you want to add a candidate you don't see listed, use the green +sign button. Please be very careful to enter the required info carefully.
