Hope this link work OK for you guys:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/i.baillie/Firefly/Firefly2.htm

Even although I built the blasted thing, it seems to take ages to load up.

If you give it a few minutes, all the pics load up OK.

Apologioes for the darkness, I really need a digital camera as my film one gives me no idea how 'good' the pics look until they're developed.

RISKEVERYTHING

You can buy higher ISO film which will take better pictures in the dark. The higher the ISO number, the more sensitive the film is to light. The trade-off is that the pictures will look more grainy.

The great thing about digital is that you know straight away whether your photos are any good or not.

OK, that's no consolation of they're still rubbish but I've lost track of the times I waited eagerly for my photos to be developed only to be crushed when they finally arrived and were all dark (not to mention the wasted costs).

But you've got some great group shots there.

I'd be happy to play around with them and see if I can lighten any up for you?

Yeah... like I had a good idea mine would turn out to all be rubbish. And I was right.

At least I can still look at everyone elses

Plus you really do have some nice group shots there - honest!

How does the seating work for the talks? is it just a matter of first come first served?

Hi, if you could try and tart them up, that would be cool. I tried using Paint Shop Pro at work, but I suck at it, and struggled with contrast/brightness even in Word. :(

I managed to get decent pics as I was sat in the middle isle, and could easily dart out. Plus I made sure I got up to ask some questions. I have a crappy zoom in my camera, so I may try and lug my massive SLR with me the next time (altho I can't work the flash correclt at all on that one, and it takes 5mins to recharge the bulb!). Whilst I realise I should have gone down the two ends, stuff that for two banannas; I'm well practiced against the Creation Nazis over in the states at Trekkie cons. The Starfury volunteers were marvelous in comparison to the miserable American ones!

"Damn you Fox for cancelling my favourite show!"

^^^^^^^^^^^^

1st come 1st served. I wandered down on Sunday at 10:30, assuming that most people would be too hung over and got semi-ok seats as a result. :( Sat seats were awesome.

I think I should volunteer for the next one tho, as they reserve the 1st 3 rows for volunteers.

Surely they must be inundated with offers to be volunteers then?!

I just tried seeing if I could save your photos to have a go at editing them but it wouldn't let me. You can email them to me if you like & I'll have a go - not that I'm promising any miracles, I'm no expert but I've got a couple of different photo packages I can play around with.

Volunteering for any convention is well worth it, you get to spend a couple of hours a day making sure everybody is happy or at least towing the line, get the priority seating & you get a special gift at the end of it all.

The guysat Starfury mentioned that weren`t going to put a cap on volunteers - the more who volunteer, the less time each volunteer has to `work` so it`s well worth it all.

Darin (Zol.)

p.s. photos are best worked with at the original size - had a look at some of the photos, the main issue is the contrast which can be fine tuned and then there`s probably some low-light noise too - some of it can be easily corrected but it takes time (see http://Serenity.fotopic.net which is my gallery of adjusted photos)

So how do you go about volunteering then?

Edited to say: Ignore this - Andy's kindly explained.

You stick out your elctronic thumb into the air, waft it around abit and eventially you find yourself drafted onboard a `Starfury Convention` vessel in the Alpha Quadrant

Seriously though - when you get your Convention Details (that`s the little leaflet that nobody reads ) it has info on how to become a steward - it`s as simple as providing details by email or by post to the person(s) nominated to run the stewards.
