Tomorrow, the band Kasabian are going to be on the Colin And Edith show (1pm - 4pm) and, as we all know, Kasabian's song 'Club Foot' appears on the trailer for Serenity, so...

I think we should get e-mailing questions to colinandedith@bbc.co.uk such as "What do you think about your song being on the trailer for the movie Serenity?" and "Are you all fans of the TV show Firefly?" If even one of these questions gets asked on the radio, it would be pretty gorram shiny!

Anyone else with me on this?

Excellent plan!

Although, does anyone listen to Radion 1 anymore....

Great idea RELFEXIVE!

I love listening to the C-Unit and J-Zedith! :)

They could help promote the movie too. (Edith's a huge Star Wars fan so it might work.)

I'm gonna send an e-mail and see what happens.

Sadly won't be able to listen to the show (stupid radio-less office). Keep us posted with what happens.

They are a laugh, ain't they?

And I'd forgotten about Edith's love for Star Wars - should be a big help!

*BUMP*

This is the largest (in terms of listeners) radio station in the UK - please email them asking about what the band think about getting on the movie trailer (etc).

I posted an email to them about it yesterday and used it as an opportunityto plug Summer's web site too! I suggested that Colin might be interested in a cute girl that has serious moves and kicks butt! Edith is an easier sell than Colin as she loves Star Wars and if she sees the trailer she should be interested anyway.

Wait, they're in Sunderland already? I'm in Sunderland ... this whole "out and about" thing they're doing ... I might have to wander off and find them, plug Serenity in person!

Hand them a flyer saying "can't stop the signal" and walk off. Then it'll both catch their attention, AND I don't have to talk on the radio! :D

Huh.

Well, they played 'Club Foot' at least. And I'd never noticed that the lyrics are actually quite appropriate.

Mind you, would they be paying attention to e-mails while they are out and about?

Hopefully we'll get a mention later in the week

Just something that will get us noticed - ask james king to find out more about the movie or sing your praise for it here -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/jowhiley/experts/james.shtml (For Jo Whileys show which is one of the few I listen to (sometimes)

Darin (Zol.)

just sent the following "Hi, I`ve got to ask, but, have you seen a screening of Serenity from Joss Wheedon (creator of Buffy, Angel & writer of Alien resurection) - the trailer is online at www.Apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/ - it would be Shiny if you give a shout out to all the firefly/Serenity fans. This film has character. The TV show was originally billed as a Scifi Western, but don`t let that put you off, it`s sexy, fun, witty & gritty. Please buy the Firefly DVD`s before reviewing this movie, It will be the best thing you watch in a long time. Zol. (Darin from Cheltenham who has seen a special screening of the movie)"

Damn good idea that. I'll be doing much the same very soon.

ADDENDUM: And done.

Ni hao. I was wondering if you'd heard any of the buzz surrounding the film 'Serenity', which is being released here in the UK in October. It's written by Joss Whedon, he of 'Buffy' and 'Angel' fame, and derives from his much-praised TV series 'Firefly'. It's sci-fi and it's a western, would you believe, but it is so much better than it sounds, with Whedon's characteristic wit, depth, involving universe and excellent characterisation. Watch the trailer at www.apple.com/trailers/universal/serenity/ and you can get the series on DVD. It could change how you view TV sci-fi, and makes you as eager for the film as all the other fans. Keep flying. - Karl Fordham, from Matlock, Derbyshire.

Done. This is exactly the kind of thing we need to do in the run up to the film. One by one we should single out movie critic types and let them know about the wonderful world of Firefly/Serenity.
