America loves a winner!

So a friend of mine who lives in another state knows I'm all into Firefly and such. She never bothered really watching it in the 1st place, but kinda sorta remembers it being on. So, I send her the addy for the trailer, and she liked it, which prompts her to obtain a copy of Firefly. She starts to watch, and I get this text message -

"So i'm watching Firefly and so far so good. It's kinda really funny. "

which is later followed up with -
"... ,oh and to hell w/ jailbait, oops i mean river. I wanna be the whore." Atta girl!

Ok, that might not sound like much of an endorsment....but you get the idea...she LOVES it!

Other texts follow back and forth...
- yes, it's chinese they're suppose to be speaking
- "I'll be in my bunk" - was a big hit
- "Look, they have boy whores..."

And then the anger toward F*X set in....." why was this taken off the air!"

I know it's only a trailer, but man... so far, so good!

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

MALICIOUS

I made my friend Liz watch the trailer tonight (she's a HUGE SW fan, she didn't think she'd like anything Firefly but was kind enough to watch for my sake). She laughed at Wash's "Oh, God, oh, God" line and said she "...would like to see it, it doesn't look too bad." She's coming over tomorrow (tentatively) to start watching the series......

Fingers crossed!

I showed several friends the trailer...my friend Mariel, who has never seen the series, but who i'd loaned the DVD set to that day watched it next to me and said:

"I'm excited. I have no idea what is going on...but i'm excited"

another friend, Marlene who has never been exposed to Firefly:

"Holy shit! That girl is my hero!" (referring to River) and the next day when i tried to give Mariel the box set, Marlene tried to snatch it from me.

and another friend thought that it looked really good, then halfway through freaked out because the guy from Numb3rs is in it, and she LOVES him... so it's gaurenteed that she's going. =D

Heh... I was thinking about that the other day... a lot of times when an tv actor is in a movie, they'll really put commercials for the movie in like every break for the series. Now, granted, he's not much of a role in it, but if he makes the TV trailer, then they could be playing that for that show.

True. But, there are actors with small parts. Sometimes, they're even lead actors; for example Hayden Christensen. His parts are very small.

Has anybody seen the miniature Darth Vader impersonator that's starting to show up on TV ads for the games, and on cereal boxes? Actually it's kinda cute: Darth Vader as a puppy...

Sceptically,

P.S.
Yes, I will be going to see SW III: TSBIB like everyone else on the planet. ...but I've got a bad feeling about this...
