Who is master coordinator for this shindig?

I think it would be a good idea if we started a roster, the numbers are important.

I know that there is an after party planned, but it would do well to know where.

Will it hold our numbers?

Will parents be bringing children?

Will we need to contribute to the overall financing of said facility?

(Will we be required to run naked through the streets of Orlando?)

What great timing you have!

I'm by no means a "master" coordinator but I doubt any of our group would step forward to wrest the title from my paws. :-)

Let's just say I'm part of a shady little gang that's trying to pull something together for an Orlando Premeire Shindig. Right now we're trying to decide on how big to go. It looks like most are leaning toward a casual Jaynestown kinda thing versus a core planet ball kinda thing.

One of our members is looking into getting a hotel discount and setting up an after party there. Another member has made contact with the theater manager at Universal Studios to see what options we may have to support the Browncoats there.

We're steering away from any kind of registration fee kinda thing but certainly appreciate your RSVP to join the fun - whatever direction it may take! ;-)

This all sounds great! Do you have an underlying number scheme to base your decisions? This is sadly always difficult outside of corporate or military surroundings. You never know who will be unable to come, or who will bring a Greyhound bus full of friends. I'm actually working on something like this - an "educational" (ok, it's guerilla marketing, but that's how I slipped it into a final project for school) CD about Firefly and Serenity - the crew, the series history, the fans, how the movie came about, the bad guys, and I'd love to have fanvideos, etc. to put on it. It will have quizzes to take to test your Firefly knowledge, and depending on how you score, it will give you a place on Serenity's crew (or you'll be dropped off with the Feds or the Reavers).

Would have been much further along with it, but hubby managed to kill the computer the most recent version was on..

.I'm pulling all nighters until Sat. to get it finished for class, and it will be scaled back from where I want the actual project to be - any suggestions are welcome!

That’s excellent. Would you be making the quizzes Flash based? I have a friend who makes this,

look like this.

As far as Fan Videos are concerned you should just compile what videos that you think would be appreciated by the greatest number of people, and I suppose the same applies to Wallpapers, and the like.

I of course as a shameless self promoter, would like to recommend my two videos; Serenity and Call Me. If you do not already have them you can download Serenity by clicking the like below, and if you like, it would be my pleasure to upload Call Me for you. They are rather large videos (size not length) but are worth it. However, if you are not broadband I can reduce them. There are a vast amount of Fan Videos out there, but I have only seen a few. If someone out there can post a list of the best, and where to find them it would help a lot.

actually, it's being done in Authorware since it's for an AW class...my preferred authoring environment is Director, but I'm not opposed to Flash - I've just got many more years experience in Director Lingo than Flash Actionscript.
Really easy to make quizzes of various types in Authorware, as it was designed primarily for educators and trainers. Not sure if I'll keep it there or port it to Director/Flash for personal use.
