Again, I hope this isn't a repost; I didn't see this in a scan of recent threads:

The good folks over at fireflymovie.com have posted news about a podcast that Screen Gems has posted at its web site, apparently in praise our our BDTV program: http://www.rhythmicpulsar.com/sgcontent.htm

For those who don't yet have podcasting software, you should still be able to listen by simply downloading the mp3 files (there are two) and opening them with any mp3 player (iTunes, Realplayer, Windows Media Player, Winamp).

I can't wait to hear it, myself. . . .

First of all, thanks for the link. I always love to read or in this case listen people telling good things about Firefly.

Hopefully some non-fans actually bother to listen the files and find themselves intrigued. And end up renting or buying Firefly.

"Robin Hood in the galaxy of Nottingham" Yep, good stuff.

Important people don't do field work.

Wow! Thanks so much. I got goosebumps listening to this. Its always nice when something you love so much is validated in some way. And this guy, for the most part, seems to get it. Really neat that he listed the fanbase in contributing factors for the show.

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Yeah, he got most of it right, although he flubbed some biggies--like saying that Inara is called a "courtesan" rather than a "companion." And I think he missed the boat on some aspects of Mal's character (although he got others pretty well). But he played some interview clips with the cast that I haven't heard. And it's just nice to hear someone spend an hour analyzing the significance of a show that Fox killed after 11 aired episodes!

I should correct my initial post and say that the piece isn't podcast, but "microcast" (I think I am remembering it right). I guess they see themselves as the next step beyond podcasting, because they target microaudiences. Whatever--I'm just glad it's out there! Thanks to fireflymovie.com for posting the news!

I'm pretty sure most or all of the interview clips were from the bonus material on disk 4 of the DVD set.

Thanks for the link. Good to hear some insightful commentary. I sent the guy a note suggesting a similar review of Wonderfalls, and he said it's on his short list.

___
RIVER: They weren't cows inside. They were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see the sky and they remember what they are.
MAL: Is it bad that what she said made perfect sense to me?
