As much as we're all looking forward to the release of the BDM, we're also looking forward to THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, not only so that we can get an early glimpse of the BDM (which is odd because THE INTERPRETER is debuting a week earlier, and since both it and the BDM are 'Versal films, the trailer would be attached to it), but also to see the works of Douglas Adam's come to life on the big screen and with better SFX than the BBC miniseries version of it.

I was just wondering. Of the various SERENITY/HITCHHIKER'S fan arts and multimedia that have been posted here, what's one in particular you'd like to see?

Personally, I'd like to see the superb HITCHHIKER'S internet trailer (the one fashioned like an entry from the guide) re-edited to incorporate footage from SERENITY but with the Guide's voice-over.

"Typically, they begin with the introduction of a main character."

(insert clips of either Mal, Simon or River)

"Who will very shortly have something so utterly fantastic happen to him-"

(shots of Reavers of Alliance bearing down on them or River's re-introduction as a creepy girl)

"that someone just had to make a movie about it."

(more bits of plot exposition)

"Often, this section is preceded by the words IN A WORLD"

(shot of the ship high tailing it out into the black)

"But sometimes not. Trailers also normally employ"

(and here's where Jayne's voice kick in and maybe an intimidating shot of him)

"a deep voice. That sounds like a seven foot tall man, who has been smoking cigarettes since childhood."

(The regular voice clear his throat. The next bit is more plot expositional shots)

"The goal is the create a piece of advertising that's original and exciting...yet intelligent and provocative. In other words, lots of things blowing up."

(Montage of exploding ships)

"Occasionally interrupted, by a girl in a bikini."

(Shot of either Inara, Kaylee of Zoe in a various state of undress, then a shot of Mal or Book acting dissaprovingly)

"Generally, trailers also feature heartless, evil villains (shot of either Alliance official or Chiwel Eiijofher's character),

hideous creatures (shot of Reavers),

dolphins (show the actual dolphins, or maybe Wash),

physical violence (various shots of people getting punched, kicked, hit or anything like that)

and of course, the promise of true love." (shots of Kaylee and Simon making out, followed by Mal swearing in Chinese)

"And lastly, there is a final montage, often set to rock music, to be designed simply to blow whatever remaining synapses you have left in your brain."

(This whole bit is more expositional shots all at a fast rate. Any shot with Zaphod in it is replaced by Wash.)

"This culminates in a reveal of the main title, like so."

(Big dramatic reveal of SERENITY)

"Followed by the release date"

(flash of September 30th, 2005)

"so that the audience might plan the next few months of their lives accordingly."

Accompaniment of cheers from fellow Browncoats in the audience optional.

So what do you guys think?
