All going today,

Please could we group the reviews here to avoid it leaking out into other topics.

Please avoid major plot spoilers!

See you all in London later! I am wearing a blue 'Kangol' top and gray trousers, if anybody wants to introduce themselves. I'll probably be in London until about 9 if anybody wants to grab something to eat or a pint afterwards. I'll also be meeting some 'versal folk if anybody wants to come.

Big. Damn. Movie. Here we come.

Cheers!

I think spoilers shouldn`t be posted here, but the experience of the screening is a diffenet matter.

This will be the 2nd screening for me, and will show the films staying power & add another viewpoint of knowing the plot (as it stood) & the new.

Look out for the guy in a sad brown jacket with Slims Used Spacecraft T-Shirt & probably a canvas bag :)

Well, it's pissing in down in London, lol.

Made the mistake of arriving here WAY too early (been in London since 8 this morn'). Nowt to do. Ended up in the Internet cafe in the Tourist info center on Haymarket Street (I think).

Just got back from London.

This cut was significantly different to previous - running order of scenes changed, bits removed, nearly all the CGI finished... In all, it's now running 15 minutes shorter. There's one change which I'm sure will piss a minority of you off, but it's NOT A BIG DEAL to be clear, and will ensure a wider appeal (that's if it stays in).

Had a good talk with JamieC and a few other people here, we were basically blown away with the film. I had very (very) high expectations, and was slightly worried for a few hours ahead of schedule incase this turned into an 'Episode 1'. It didn't. It surpassed my expectations, chewed them up, spat them out, set them on fire and then made them into gold.

Well done Joss, Jack Green, Jewel, Nathan... and everybody else.

By the way, Universal and UIP execs were both at the screening, and we had a message from joss. Thanks, joss, for that.

It blew my mind as a movie, and took this story to a level that Television never could have. I'm still trying to find the calm in my mind to process everything. It is a fantastic film.

I think you are being extremely optimistic about what you have said, this was a slightly different cut, not significantly different, the story remains the same, the CGI was more filled in, but with low quality CGI.

I have a feeling that the film is now trying to meet age requirements (especially for the US) - the 1st screening was most likely an 18 age limit or 15 at a push.

The first screening a 18 limit?!!! Huh. *thinks* Yeah, maybe, with a harsh critic.

Allo Zol :)

Yeah, I've had overnight to sleep on it. I'd still say it's 'extremely different'. If 15 minutes are missing, that's gonna come from somewhere, and it can't account purely from violence.

However, of course as we said: DVDs make the point mute. I'm not bothered. If it helps increase the pace for the average cinema goer, that's fine and dandy with me.

Zol: what did you think of the film second time around?

Replied to the missing bits in PM. The movie stands the 2nd trial by fire - and there are definitely bits that you pickup on the 2nd time around. I was dissapointed lightly about one fight scene not being as long as it was but then, that could change again - audience reaction was a bit muted compared with the 1st but then, that maybe because of the addition of quite a few extra bodies, definitely heard one say "I don`t want to be here" and I thought great neative to start with, let`s hope he changed his mind.

Now about 1/4-1/3 at the serenity con will have seen a preview, it`s going to be hard on some to keep quiet in appropriate places, but don`t fret, I`m loaded up with Gaffa Tape and I`m sure we can find an empty closet and a chair

It was such a great film! Im still processing it in my brain though, for about the 100th time.

It will be really good to talk about it at Starfury, and with the time to think about it between then and now.

And the 'normal' woman sat behind me couldnt stop complaining that she wanted nuts to eat, not all the free chocolate! thought she was gonna be a problem throughout the film, but I didnt notice anything but the film...

So is there any body who went who's willing to provide REAL spoilers as promised in the subject line. If not here, then some where else?

Please respect the advance nature of this screening, and do not reveal plot
points or spoilers on public forums.

If you want spoilers - I suggest you ask for people to email you or talk in person - those who have seen the screenings have been given specific instuctions NOT to reveal anything.

This is a work in progress, It has been great that they have let so many people see the un-finished work, please do not spoil it for the future when other films could be given the same treatment.

Now I'm confused. If you all had no intention of putting spoilers in the thread, why is the word "SPOILERS" in the subject line? Shouldn't it say "NO SPOILERS PLEASE"?

Moving on...

Yes, it does say SPOILERS, and as I have pointed out, we have been asked specifically not to post info on bulletin boards.

If you`re going to the serenity con - there`s plenty of people rthere you can talk to. If you are not going to the serenity con, then this is a bit mute - the screening was an added bonus for some of those attending, we were given instructions, which included the sensitivity of the material and each person & baggage was searched personally and with a metal detector.

I suggest you PM the people who have posted if you want information, but understand this, it may jeopodise future screenings if you re-broadcast that info - how do we know that you do not work for a newspaper/publication? and that you can keep your word?

I suggest you check the 2nd post in this thread which I posted, and pointed out that the experience of watching the film would be okay but not actual spoilers - which people have adhered to so far.

I started the topic. To be honest, I wasn't aware the Starfury folk (and nice folk they are, too) had been asked not to discuss spoilers. I was on a seperate invite for various reasons so haven't been asked to keep shut about spoilers - I started this topic in good faith to try to keep spoilers out of the main topics before I knew what'd been said.

However, I'm keeping tight lipped. This is obviously a film production which has 'shock value' in the honourable sense of the word. I've no problem discussing what I thought of the film and mentioning vague details, but other than that - you'd be better waiting for the movie.

To some extent you're going to hear all sorts about Serenity at any rate (the first cut of the trailer has just been cut together, and it gives a bit away) -- plus add in the media having their reviews. I'm sure you get the picture.

`WhoisRiver` - are you going to the Serenity Con too? I`m hoping that a whole group of those who saw either the 1st or 2nd UK screenings can get together and talk openly.

Cheers
