If so, please post any details from from the "Firefly" presentation with Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, and Loni Peristere.

I couldn't make it to the con and would love to hear what they talked about and if there was any new "Serenity" footage screened.

"Hamsters is nice."

Check out my latest blog entry. Longish.

Sorry, but I haven't even looked at my photo's yet, and I'm not sure I got any of the action figures at all. They were having some trouble getting camera shots of the presenter, and I certainly wasn't close enough to get good shots directly with my camera.

He did show some 'production' type pictures, with various stages of designing and making each of the two different Mal and Jayne figures. He said there was a fifth but he couldn't show anything of it.

I flew over from Phoenix for the day. Here's some pics from the Firefly Happy Hour. It was a great time.

When you say 'creation' please tell me you don't mean the mega-corp that sucked all the fun and originality out of Star Trek conventions.

Creations = McConvention

If Creations gets their grubby boring mitts on Firefly, I'll have to give up.

"I'm gonna rip you a new puppet hole, bitch!"

DeannaB at the BTVSFigs board went to the Pasadena con and has a bit more news about the action figures:

Quote:

I didn't get a chance to see them, other than projected onto a screen, but here's the nearly-unreadable notes I scribbled down from what Matt said in his short presentation:

The Firefly figures are due in August (!?)
The actors were scanned, made sure to get the costume & weapon details accurate
Variant heads - cigar-smoking Jayne and windswept Mal
Soft, flexible jacket, removable for no jacket alternate (I think he said there were alternate arms for when you take the jacket off, but I might be mistaken)
Jayne comes with a big gun, a bigger gun, and an even bigger gun - standard Jayne has yellow shirt, cigar-smoking alternate has brown shirt.
2 Mals, 2 Jaynes, Mystery 5th figure

And that's it. Hopefully I'll be able to go to WizardWorld this weekend to find out more, and bring back photos.

Yup, that 'creation'. I must admit the con itself was a bit, um, offputting. But it did have it's good points, and the Firefly reception itself was great, possibly just because our heroes are great with the fans.

Good points:
Virginia Hey is quite the chatterbox and rather amazing in person. The candles she was selling were a bit on the fragrant side for my tastes, but my wife really liked them. William Shattner is actually quite an entertaining speaker. The Firefly panel was great, and they gave away prizes :)

Not so good points:
None of the vendors were allowed to carry unsigned Firefly stuff, because of Creation's rules. Expensive. It was fairly heavy on the Trek stuff (not necessarily bad, just not what I was interested in).
