So near the end of safe when jayne is standing above the town folk with a cocked shotgun and Mal and Zoe walk up to witch burnin...and mal says some crap to the crowd about how Jayne is all tetchee and wanting to kill people then he turns to simon and says "something something something near miraculous" and simon replies "Yes. I am very proud." does anyone have any idea what Mal said?

I have rewatched it 10 times now and can't make it out and it is driving me nuts.

"Got to say, Doctor, your talent for alienating folks is pretty near miraculous."
"Yes, I'm very proud."

I kept rewinding it about a dozen times and I wasn't able to make it out either. Thanks for the translation, Evans.

Jayne: Time for some thrilling heroics.

Wash: Every man there go back inside or we will blow a new crater in this little moon.

There are to many syllables in there to be it but I think I decoded it

Mal "Gotta say doctor, ya'took to rilin' folk near miraculous."

Simon "Yes, I'm very proud."

Anyway that is what I got, you people can judge for yourselves.

"Got to say, Doctor, your talent for alienating folks is pretty near miraculous" is what the closed captions said.

'Course, the captions aren't always right.

Don't know if this has been brought up on another thread, but this one seemed fairly appropriate.

I was rewatching Shindig and one of Inara's lines is haunting me. During the ball just after Wing tells her that all the men want to be in her bed she says something that sounded a heck of a lot like, "I'm looking for the boy with the shiny wand." I'm guessing this isn't actually what she said. So can any closed captioners help me out here? Was it Chinese, or is my hearing that bad?

ATHERTON: Oh, its not that indefinable. (quietly) All of them wish they were in
your bed.

INARA: (seems a bit put off by that remark) I'm looking for the boy with the
shimmerwine.

ATHERTON: Oh, she blushes. Not many in your line of work do that. You are a very
singular woman. And I find.... I find I admire you more and more.

ROTFLMAO at the shiny wand version of this line. Somebody's brain went off on an interesting tangent there.

C'mon, like 'shimmerwine' makes that much more sense. Thanks to Evans for the correction.
