I'm gonna assume--i know a bad thing to do--you're speaking of objects not peoples.

See, I don't know if people get affected by the infinite improbability drive.

I mean, what's the worse that could happen? I suppose I could turn into Niska and be very upset that you blew up my satellite.

Aha.

Well, there was the whole turning all gooey thing, though they were righted at the completion of the calculations.

It does seem mostly harmless…or mostly harmful depending on your definition of harmness. Knowing its penchant for telephone numbers, I think we should be very afraid. It is quite possible we may end up not just some where strange, but some when strange.

I'm more concerned about Spontaneous Massive Existence Failure.

What do you mean, NO I don't beat him!!
The only people I want to beat, in light of recent activity, is Static and Cozin. But then I believe in a nice CLEAN thread!

Oh, I also want to beat on SW, but I'm not sure why!

*Ebo plugs in the amp (and turns the volume low, so as not to become terribly annoing - yet) and sits on the pool table with her pretty blue guitar. She plays a few notes.*

Blech, this thing is terribly out of tune, when was the last time I played?

*Ebo tunes up the guitar. It is very exciting. Right up there with watching paint dry.*

*she plays a few power chords*

I have been on such a Greenday kick lately its not even funny. Has anybody seen my drummer?

Well, um looks like my dance is over.

*twg curtsies to the empty space before her*
Thank you Cozen wherever you are.

Rat, I'll keep Static in line, for that matter I'll keep myself in line too. Cozen has, I believe, realized his enthusiasm was a bit misplaced. His new existence as a celestial being should keep things relatively normal?

*twg wanders off to her room to change clothes and retrieve a special gift for a clubhouser*

Ebo? ah, Ebo, I have something for you. *twg hands an orange folder to Ebo* Here is all of my sheet music. I haven't written or arranged anything in years. Please use this if you need it to compose our theme song.

*twg, bedecked in her red dress and heels, reaches for Static's hand*

May I have this dance?

That's probably because I denegrated all "rednecks" in one of my blogs. In the UK that word did and still does mean "American Southern Racist" but I did some research after our debate and I learnt it has been reclaimed in the US to just mean "American Southerner". Once again, two countries divided by a common language, my apologies for the upset but you can virtually beat me up if it makes you feel better. Come on, I can take it. Get it out of your system.

*WHAP*

Ouch! That really hurt! Good grief, it's definitely going to leave a mark.

*cries in corner*

Although I'd advise against beating on Static because he's kinda big. And has a helicopter with lots of guns attached to it.

SW, redneck's etymology is ambiguous. It's origins are not limited to the south, but was a term, derogatory, for the farmers bending over in the fields getting sunburns on the backs of their necks. In typical human fashion, it was adopted by those people, though the most popular of them are the southern types. Then it became a derivative term for Southerners. Then some of the Southerners took it as a badge of honor. I don't. I was born in the SOuth, lived all my life here. But rednecks still tend towards ignorance, almost intentional ignorance. I am a Southerner, but more of the aristocratic Old South types. Not a racist, though.

Not that? Erm. Well, I said Aliens was better than Firefly on another thread. Maybe that?

Actually, it's probably a hundred or so glib comments by me that have built up in your subconscious, lurking away, insisting that I be smited at your first opportunity.

Still, you're beating me up in the style of our BDH in A Knight's Tale, so that's all right then. Why is it that my brain insists there will be a sequel to that called "A Knight's War"? There really ought to be.

Oh, and we have two casualties at the moment. Rat's son (!), TRM and now Cozen appears to be a Constellation which is causing Consternation.

Two years ago
Moved from my town
I was looking up
Past the city lights
But the city lights got in my way

See the constellation ride across the sky

Just a guy made of dots and lines
Just a guy made of dots and lines

I found my mind
On the ground below
I was looking down
It was looking back
I was in the sky, all dressed in black

See the constellation ride across the sky
No cigar, no lady on his arm
Just a guy made of dots and lines

Hillbilly Drummer Girl by Mono Puff:

She came down from the Ozarks
To the big city Memphis world
She's a legend and a landmark
Hillbilly drummer girl

A stomach full of whiskey,
More than any man
A bar of broken tables,
And empty gasoline cans
A black bohemuth Caddie,
Sleeping bag in back
Holes right through the floor boards,
A rolling chicken shack

She came down from the Ozarks
To the big city Memphis world
She's a legend and a landmark
Hillbilly drummer girl
Hillbilly drummer girl

At Ten o'clock tomorrow,
Playing for a crowd of six
Free beer and eight dollars,
That's money for new sticks
Party 'cross the river,
Ends up in the mud
Morning in the drunk tank,
Coffee and dried blood

She came down from the Ozarks
To the big city Memphis world
She's a legend and a landmark
Hillbilly drummer girl
Hillbilly drummer girl

The ducks are in the lobby,
And Graceland's down the roll
A vacant lot, a pile of bricks,
Now she's the living soul

She came down from the Ozarks
To the big city Memphis world
She's a legend and a landmark
Hillbilly drummer girl
Hillbilly drummer girl
Hillbilly drummer girl

Here's a suggestion by "Gaelic Storm"

We set sail at half-past morn,
looking for a new tomorrow,
don't know when we're coming home,
so we'll drink, and we'll dance,
and we'll drown our sorrow!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

Now, I don't know what there lies in store,
but it's better than this
That's why I'm willing ,
to stake my claim on a foreign shore,
whit me spoons, and me fiddle,
and half a shlling!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

I dreamt a place,
I know it's true
where the dolphins play and it's always sunny.
The girls are brown and the ocean blue,
less work to do,
but you make more money!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

I must be off by morning's light,
I can hear our bo'sun's whistle blowing,
so its one more kiss,
and one more fight,
and one more song while the beer is flowing!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

When the sky is grey,
look out to sea.
When the waves are high and the light is dying,
well raise a glass and think of me...
When I'm home again,
boys, I'll be buying!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey!
Weigh, hey, hey!
We'll drink the night away!

*grin*

did we all forget that we already have a song?

full speed ahead SimonWho!
Up, up, up the ladder. Up, up, up the ladder.
Highjack away!

It's fun to charter a treehouse
And sail the wide forum seas,
To find, explore the rumors and what's more
To skirt the shoals of fandomy!

It can be manly on the rooftop.
We'll share a toast to crew daily.
It's all quite enjoyable.
We're fairly incorrigible,
We're sailing on the wide forum seas!

Oh this is fun Mistress Ebo.
Sail away!
Up, up, up the ladder...

of course we'll have to modify it a bit now that we're a love boat in space...

I didn't shoot him, if that's what you're asking.

Hmm, I'm not sure about me being in a band. Technically I'm a piano player but I'm only picking it up again after a twelve year break. And I wasn't that good to begin with.

Still, lots of good songs there. I agree with the Ally McBeal principle that a theme song should instantly uplift us, make us walk with a bounce in our step. We could all do with that from time to time.

Okay, I'm confused. My room was originally in the South wing, but got moved to the West wing when TRM changed things around before. So now is it still in the West wing, or has it moved back to the South wing? My brain hurts.

Upon further reflection, I want to be in the South wing if that's where our General Lee shuttle is. I need to practice sliding across the hood and climbing in and out of the windows. And shooting my bow and arrows with dynamite on them!
