Hi i was just wondering if anyone knows if Shohreh Aghdashloo is in Serenity. I was excited to see her name appear on imdb towards the end of production on the movie, then her name was mysteriously removed then it was put back. She's currently starring in 24 season 4 as Dina 'Beh-Rooz' Araz and is a brilliant sophisticated eastern actress who is full of quality and class with massive screen presence. I assumed she'd be cast as a Mentor or teacher to Inara or for somekind of voiceover in the opening of the film. A small role but an important one. You may recall she was nominated for an oscar last year for her porformance in The House of Sand and Fog. I really hope she is in this movie but she wasn't in the preview i saw. I was hoping for a cameo at least. Maybe they did some reshoots with her or somthing. No character name is listed on imdb, and i havn't heard any of the cast speak of her in interviews although somone is cast as her stunt double, the same stunt double as Morena in fact. Can anyone shed any light on this? I havn't heard anyone questioning it as yet. I hope she is in the finished movie, she may also bring some extra hollywood attention to our BDM.

Being a big 24 fan, I have fallen for Shohreh. She has this very sensual way about her, and I find her very attractive (especially her voice). I think she would be perfect for the movie. Right when I read who she was (as I don't know her name off hand) and you said her name was in the credits, I thought Inara's mentor or at least a companion of sorts. She would be perfect for that... hell maybe she's Inara's mother (although she's a very dark woman).

Very cool. September is too far away :(

Gald you agree. By her name being in the credits i don't mean the credits attached to the test screening as they were incomplete, it simply said written and directed by Joss Whedon. What i meant was the credits on imdb.com. A stunt double for her is also credited. She has to be in the finished movie surely.

Shohreh Aghdashloo had the role that Sarah Paulson ended up taking - Dr Caron, the Alliance officer who ends up trapped on Miranda and leaves the video message.

Sorry for the slight delay in replying.

How did that fall through? Did she not shoot the scenes, or were the scenes re-shot?

Maybe she wasn't evil enough to want to medicate the entire Population into submission.

The scenes were reshot - presumably Joss wasn't happy with them. He did comment on Sarah Paulson's casting that she could do comedy and comedy was the hardest thing to do in acting so why not get someone who can do the hard stuff? Which seems a little harsh on Shohreh who has an Oscar nomination in her back pocket.

I'm getting quicker at replying.
